My wonderful, tech-savvy, gifted daughter-in-law set the printer up for me in about half an hour, given that much of that time was spent on the phone resolving a WIFI issue with SPECTRUM. \n\nI especially like the clear, sharp print quality and the fact that I can print remotely via my phone. It is such a relief to have dumped my virtually unused Epson WF-2860 printer in favor of this solid Brother monochrome compact laser printer that prints only in black, not in color, which is all I ever need. \n\nIt does everything a printer can do, including WIFI mobile printing from my phone, duplex printing that automatically prints on both sides of each sheet of paper, and much more. \n\nWhile I have only had it a couple of weeks, I am thrilled that it takes dry toner cartridges instead of ink cartridges that quickly dry out. I was totally dissatisfied with Epson's selling partially filled Claria ink cartridges as full, so that if even one color runs out almost immediately, the printer freezes, and software updates prohibit the use of remanufactured cartridges sold at a fraction of Epson's greedy, unjustifiable ink prices.\n\nAmen, Brother! I just got the Brother MFC-L2900DW and honestly, I'm really impressed. Setup was super easy ā I had it up and running on Wi-Fi in about 10 minutes, and I can print from my phone, laptop, or even my tablet without any issues.\r\n\r\nIt prints fast, it's not too loud, and the quality is great ā crisp, clean black-and-white text every time. The duplex (double-sided) printing is a nice bonus too and helps save paper. I've already used the scanner and copier functions a few times, and both work perfectly.\r\n\r\nWhat I really like is how compact it is. It fits nicely in my home office without taking up too much space, but still feels sturdy and well-built.\r\n\r\nAlso, it's way more cost-effective than my old inkjet. Excellent all in one printer. Prints like a printer should. Output crisp and sharp. Fast printing and scanning. Paper travels smoothly and quickly. No longer have a landline, so the fax function was not tested. \n\niScan&Print works really well from iPhone or network computer. I used an Ethernet connection and did not use a USB cable. The LCD display could use modernization as it seems to be like the display on the first Windows systems marketed, but I guess it is much improved from lower end models. \n\nI haven't tried the two sided scanning or printing and will hold comment for now. \n\nThe only con is the confusing instructions on setup. I think the easiest way is to download the brother phone app and follow the instructions. Be sure to pick MFC2900 DWXL and not MFC2900 DW. Once iScan$Print loads, load it on your PC. From there it should work. Make the print test page says the printer driver is Brother and not IPP.

We like our printer for many reasons, first, it is compact, it does not take much space in our small office. \nThe setup was fast and easy and best of all it has been working well wirelessly. \nWe really like how it prints fast, and it prints on both sides without running the paper again twice. \nIt also scans both sides on one pass. \nWe also like that it can do all this from the computer or from the app on my cell. \nThe one thing I am not sure about is the life of the toner, it came with a toner, and it has not printer the number of documents it states it does. Maybe because it's the sample but it does not explain that the toner is a sample with less toner than a regular or not. I will have to see if the next toner has a longer life or not.\nOverall, it has been working great, really like it.

I needed to scan and print many documents, legal and otherwise. Research showed that this Brother MFC-L2900DW printer could scan both sides of a page in one pass. That feature has saved me a lot of time and solved the page orientation frustration problems. For a home or home/office printer, this is a definite winner, and it comes at a very reasonable price. \n\nThis printer can connect in multiple ways, USB, Wi-Fi, or hardwired to the network. I tried them all and they all work well. To cut down on the amount of RF in the house, I wired the printer to the network router and turned off the printers internal wi-fi. It was easy to install the Brother printer driver on my laptop and another desktop as well. The driver found and set up the printer every time. Now, if my computers can connect to my network, they can print. It is an awesome printer and setup process.

After more than ten years of steady office use, my MFC-8690DW needed major parts replaced and the cost of the repairs exceeded the price of a newer machine. I found the MFC-L2900DW on sale, and it has the same functions and more. The printer is ready within just a few seconds of being switched on and provides sharp, clear copies every time. A newer and very nice feature is the one-pass duplex scanner. This is my fourth Brother printer, between my office and home, and I can state that they have been and are the most dependable printers I have ever owned; as a matter of fact, the other two older ones are each about the same age as the 8690 and are still working excellently. I would not hesitate for an instant to recommend Brother printers for office or home use.

I've owned this a month now, so can't speak to reliability. It was not the easiest to set up--the quick instructions didn't work for me, I ended up needing to find the correct place to download the full set of drivers on the main Brother website--but from then on, it's been fast, quiet, and handles well what I've so far asked of it, if I keep finding the particulars for this machine (my first laser jet and a different brand than my prior several printers). Friends who have Brothers praise highly--particularly that the cost of new cartridges is not ridiculous. But I got the one that comes with the extra large additional cartridge, and look forward to not having to buy more ink for a very long time.\n\nGood machine. Happy.

It prints quick and clean - no smudging unless you run low. It's not terribly hard to connect to your network but really depends on your network. I personally don't use any fax functions anymore but I'm sure it'd still work as the previous models. Solid printer and copier. This works great for smaller offices without a need for high volume copying or printing or advance printers with special binding options, etc.

After more than a month, I am even more than pleased with the printer. Since my first review, I have used double sided scanning and printing, printing from my iPhone, and printing multiple copies of selected pages from a large document. \n\nThe printer did all of those tasks perfectly and quickly. Truly impressed. No jamming, clipping or crooked pages.\n\nThough found another con that is probably true for all laser printers, with volume printing the printer gives off that heated toner smell which I don't like. So keep it in a ventilated space.

Printer is a high built quality and I like how it quickly wakes up from idle to running. Quality of printing is good. The only reason why I gave 4 stars is because of poor scanner quality. Flat bed scanner runs out of memory when set to highest resolution. The mobile connect android app doesn't allow you to scan anything above 300 dpi which is a shame. We are in the year 2025 and it feels ancient when using the mobile app.

Printer seems to work ok, however the wifi network hookup is lacking. Our older MFC- 2700\nHooked up very easy to our home network this newer model is quite wonky on network hookup. Seems to want to keep going back to bluetooth. Then I have to reset the network & reenter password. Seems in this day & age a plug & play auto connect would easily work & only have to enter password once & the printer would retain the settings.

I printed double sided and it handled the paper easy and fast. The print quality was at a 95% . Very clear. The setup was very easy and it had paper and app instructions. I can swear by Brother printers. It's their primary product, and they do it awfully well. I replaced an ancient MFC-L2750 that had succumbed to frequent paper jams with this model, and I'm very happy with it. \n\nLike its predecessor, it is a monochromeāi.e., black-and-whiteāprinter. Its laser allows for crisp documents. You can keep your costs down by buying toner cartridges compatible with Brother's TN830. \n\nHighly recommended.

Setting it up on the wireless network took maybe five minutes tops. It prints incredibly fast, the text is super sharp, and the scanner works like a charm. If you're running a small home office or just need something reliable that isn't going to constantly dry out like an inkjet, this is a no-brainer. Brother makes absolute tanks, and getting it refurbished saved a chunk of cash without sacrificing any quality. Highly recommend it.

While the setup wasn't quite so easy as a review made it, it's functioning has been excellent. Further, the speed of production of requested pages is 10 times that of the printer it replaced. For a small business, without a need for color pages (I have another printer that can handle that if necessary) it was exactly what I needed. I haven't yet used the wireless capability, instead using a USB connection.

I was a happy owner of a Brother's inkjet printer, but wanted our new printer to be a laser printer. I love this new printer. We needed a compact-sized printer to fit on top of our desk, and this one is perfect. It has about the same footprint as our old inkjet.
