Love the freezer, lots of room, and was easy to get everything in it from our large old chest freezer. I added some clear totes to organize my meats and can see everything I have in the freezer instead of having to remove items from my chest freezer just to see what is on the bottom.\n\nHad one slight problem with the handle when it was delivered. The delivery guys had a hard time getting the set screws to work. They had to use different set screws and thought that it would be fine, but on the 5th or 6th time of opening the door using the handle, the bottom 1/2 of the handle fell off and the top 1/2 of the handle was barely dangling on the remaining set screw. We had to purchase larger set screws and it seems to be holding firm. We have only had the freezer for 1 week, but we love it, even with the original faulty handle issue!

Who has ever had a chest freezer? Anyone??? I have! And it is for the birds! I would waste so much food because it was at the very bottom. I would get frost bite digging to find what I needed. So when we moved into our new home I knew I needed a standing up right freezer. Searched everywhere and finally found this GE. Unfortunately the price of food is ridiculous. But I from week to week it can vary if chicken or hamburger meat is more expensive. It's so amazing to have this freezer so if one of the other is a decent price I can stock up for my household. The glass shelves are amazing you don't have to worry about spills being hard to clean. There's so much room and it makes zero noise. I couldn't be more happy and thankful for this freezer...

At 21.3 Cu. Ft., this freezer is HUGE!!! However, the shelving design doesn't seem like it's the best choice for an upright freezer like this. We store a lot of things like beef and poultry. That tends to get heavy and the single turkey, alone, is 20lbs. The glass (plexiglass) type shelving seems to work in a refrigerator; however, I'm a garage freezer, it makes more sense to have the rack-type shelving for strength and durability. As you can see in some photos I've included, the shelves tend to bow in the middle with weight on them. The freezer certainly looks nice with those shelves; however, for a large capacity garage freezer, it's not the best design. Unfortunately, many of the options and many brands are like this, these days.

Had to make a quick freezer purchase when my old Kenmore gave out. I checked several sites to see what was available and found this GE, I had my sons pick it up for me while I emptied the old freezer. When we got it into place I was first of all impressed with the size overall. I plugged it in and had no choice but to start putting in all my frozen foods. The configuration was very good, storage drawers were convenient and I was impressed with the glass shelves. It started right out cooling to the needed temp. By the next morning it had the food frozen solid, although I was quick enough not to lose anything.

Love the storage capacity of my 21CF freezer. I like how the top 3 tiers are arranged and the size / depth of the in-door compartments. I also liked the small drawer feature in the middle so that little items can be frozen and not lost in a bigger shelf or drawer. I think I would much rather of had a single wire basket for the bottom tier rather than 2 plastic bins, but so far it has been very usable. I found that it only took about 4 hours for the unit to cool down to proper freezer temp after it was delivered. My previous GE freezer lasted over 35 years and I look forward to this unit lasting just as long

I bought this upright freezer to replace one that failed after 20 years. I really like that this is a garage ready model that will withstand our terrible summer triple digit heat. We seem to have an extended power outage each winter, so the 48 hour "stay frozen" feature will lessen the time I would need to run it on a generator. The shelving is nice, easy to clean glass. The see through drawer in the upper section is great for bagged vegetables and fruit or small items. The open door alert chime is nice. The door seals very well. Overall very happy with the freezer. Hope it has a long life.

I love my new freezer! I had a chest freezer for about 30 years and when it quit working, I decided to get an upright freezer. I did a lot of research. Checked out different brands and read reviews. I decided to get this GE freezer because of the size, the fact it is energy star certified, and the positive reviews I read. So far, I think I have made a great choice. After letting it sit for 24 hours, I turned it on and it was at temperature in less than 4 hours. There is plenty of room and it's so nice to be able to see what you have frozen. I am very pleased with my purchase!!!!

So far, so good. It has been in operation in our garage for about two weeks now and it's working well. We've already had a couple of hot days, and the freezer worked just fine. Even though we looked at the measurements when we bought it, we didn't realize just how big it was - it's bigger than our refrigerator. For the difference in price between this one and the next size down, I think it's worth getting the bigger unit. \n\nSetup was as easy as plugging it in, attaching the door handle (very easy - two set-screws), and removing the packing material from the shelves and bins.

We did have to work a bit to get that operational, had to put shims under the front levelers to get the correct angle for the door to close automatically. The freezer was ready for stocking less than 2 hours after plugging it in to power source. \nI like the exterior control panel, easy to operate. It controls the temperature and has alarms for open door and high internal temperature, good safety features. \nMy model has the glass shelves and plastic drawers, as opposed to wire shelves.

I’ve had this freezer for a few weeks and I really like it! The space is just what I needed. I love the glass shelves and drawer compartments. It didn’t take long to get the initial temperature to where it needed to be (4 hrs. or less), and so far, it’s stayed constant. It has great suction when opening and closing (sometimes it takes a real tug to open). This freezer is replacing a much smaller one, and so far, I haven’t noticed much difference, if any, in our daily utility usage report. Overall, it’s been a great purchase!

The product I purchased replaced a unit that was apx 20cu and this is 21cu.. I do like most of it, but due to being a little taller and not as wide, I loose some space in the width and in the door shelves. They are also not as wide. The drawer on the bottom is 2 drawer instead of one drawer. This also limits some space, so even though it is 21 cu vs 20 cu, I feel I have lost some area. Now saying that, I will just need to stack differntly, and maybe get the RV bars you put in a fridge to keep things on the shelf if I Stack high. \nThe produce is doing what it needs to, and that is freeze the food.

Bought this freezer because another name brand freezer stopped working within 18 months of purchase. So far it has been great. I do like the exterior controls on the door so you know it is working. We buy a whole pig and 1/4 to 1/2 beef every 12 to 18 months so we need the space. Everything is holding up well no frost build up, no warm spots, and and a lot of room. I'm honestly mixed on the upper drawer, but it was not a deal breaker, I have found a couple uses for it. Seems to be very well built.

We've had this freezer for only a week, but so far we love it! We bought this particular model as it has the glass shelves and three plastic drawers. It also has the see thru plastic door shelf compartments. I have a chest type freezer that is very old so I knew I had better be prepared with a new freezer as we are getting a half side of beef next week. Was a little worried about it being an upright freezer, but I do like the convenience of organized shelving to be able to see everything upon opening.

This upright freezer is roomy with the right amount of drawer space and shelves to keep things organized. There's an alarm feature if the door isn't closed properly or kept open too long. The seal on the door is very tight. It's in our garage and hot summers make this important! Also the interior temperature is displayed on the front of the door which is lockable for security. \nThis is my dream freezer, after years of chest freezers where I felt like a dumpster diver. I'm thrilled.

Only two days old, but already we are happy. We bought the biggest upright we could for the garage. Our old upright GE was a smaller version. It's 14 years old and we didn't want to take a chance of it going bad. We were able to fill the new one up and we have plenty of room to put a lot more in. The plan is to keep the old one and put my pies, cakes, cookies, etc. in it. We also will keep frozen bottles of water in it. Quiet, fast to get down to freezing and it's perfect for us.

Now, I can take advantage of store sales and specials to be able to stock up on my favorite foods. I love my new freezer. The capacity really fits my needs. I had a much smaller one for years and was always wishing that I had more space. The glass shelving is great and the space in the door has room for lots of single items that would use up a lot of shelve space. This GE freezer looks great and even though it is large it doesn't take up much more space in my garage than my smaller one did. I recommend GE and this freezer to anyone shopping for a new freezer.

I have only had this freezer fora year, so I cannot speak to its longevity, but in the time I have had it it has served me very well. There is plenty of storage for meats and garden vegetables that I preserve for the winter months. Last years harvest all fit with room to spare. It seals very well, requiring a strong pull to open (which I like). This freezer is located in my unconditioned garage and has no issue keeping up in the summer heat.

Freezer is large and well partitioned. Easy access to items. I like the arrangement of the drawers. I like having the temperature gauge on the outside and warning of warm temperature and open door. The young men who delivered it did an excellent job. They couldn't get their large truck up our narrow driveway, so they loaded it onto a dolly and pushed it up our long rather steep driveway in very hot weather without complaining.

We just love our new freezer. It's large and has great features such as frost free, garage operations, audible alarming and 2 day power outage insulation. It can operate from 0 - 110F which this freezer will experience since it is located in Northern NY. It's frost free which I'm finding makes it difficult to re-open shortly after closing because it seems to be pulling a vacuum likely to remove any moisture in the air.

This is huge, lots of room and plenty of places to move shelves. Not sure I'm a fan of the electronics, but I see why the alarms can be handy. I did find out I'm not loving the glass shelves as my old freezer had wire racks and it was easier to organize products without them sliding around like an ice rink. I'm still working on ways to organize around the shelving issue. Overall so far it's been doing well, we shall see how “garage ready” it is in the future, fir now it's in a spare bedroom.

Seems to be working great so far after a few weeks - seals great after closing door and holds a cold temperature that is indicated on the outside of the door - instead of having to open it to check. The Freezer is very light and after putting some food inside, the door opened easier as the seal would move the freezer when I tried to open it. I like this as it means no cold air escapes!
