The bed frame itself looks very nice and feels pretty sturdy, but my biggest complaint is the slats. The bed only comes with 3 flimsy slats and feet to hold them up. After we thought we finished, we had to take everything apart again because the one foot fell off/was crooked when we looked underneath (and we didn't trust those slats alone to properly support us). Then as we were fixing that one, ANOTHER one fell off. We ended up going to Lowe's the next day and buying some sturdier wood to help support the original slats.\n\nAlso, the instructions say to screw the slats in place, but they wouldn't go through the wood all the way with the screwdriver. We had to unscrew them, make holes with the power drill, and finally screw them on again. Overall the bed is great now, but all that hassle was very annoying.

I love the bed. I bought it for 13 year old son to match his dressers and the finish is a perfect match! I purchased an high end mattress set and that allowed him to get more height for the bed. The only thing that I dislike about the bed is the very thin and cheap slacks. I am going to purchase additional slacks for the bed from Home Depot to give it more support. I hope that Ashley considers adding more sturdy slacks to its bedding. I bought another queen bed from Ashley about 5 years ago and noticed that the slacks for that bed is also very then and cheap.\nI would give the bed five stars if the slacks were not thin, flimsy, and insufficient for the frame size.

There are only 3 support boards to hold the mattress. When we places our King mattress on the built frame and support cross boards, the mattress fell through the slants. Even when our dog jumped up he fell through. Since we really like the frame itself, we bought a metal thin box frame to put underneath. If that doesn't work we will try a piece of sheet wood. If that doesn't work we will send it back. We are so disappointed because we have an signature by Ashley queen we purchased 9 years ago and the quality is so much better. We just wanted a bigger bed. The queen is still in use in our guest bedroom. Where we currently have to sleep. Real bummer. They should just tell you up front you will need support board

I love this bed! I would have given this bed 5 stars but during assembly, the 3 support pieces that support the slats seemed to be cut 1-2†too short so we had to place some pieces of cut wood underneath to make sure it was stable. Also I would have liked to have maybe 5 slats vs the 3. Other than that it's a very nice bed. It's easy to assemble and the quality is good for the price. It looks more expensive than it is. It is also very comfortable. I am happy with my purchase.

It is a sturdy headboard and footboard but it is very hard to make the bed. Putting the sheets on, especially the fitted sheet is very difficult to do because the headboard and footboard prevent you from reaching in and around like you need to make the bed. When we get older it will be impossible

Issue with this bed is the 3 slats and legs it comes with are very thin and poor quality. Was not thought out for normal size couples. Had to purchase 2x4 boards and sturdy legs to assure the bed frame would be solid.

The second night the bed was set up, the elder person sleeping on it fell with the mattress to the floor, because the rails needs to be hammered into their place, but you don't want to brake the delicate piece so the best thing is to work in a couple. While one holds the board up at one end the other must use a rubber hammer and thick piece of clothe to hammer the ends tight in place.

The headboard and footboard are great but the slats are not appropriate for a king sized mattress. I ended up spending money on a mattress platform due to the weak slats. Other that the slats I would highly recommend it.

The frame itself is beautiful, solid, and easy to put together. The support pieces are flimsy and nowhere near adequate to support a king mattress and foundation. In less than a week, two have cracked and we've ordered a separate support system.

pretty good for the price, color is what we wanted, headboard/footboard have some weight to them. Agree with other posters, the slat system leaves a lot to be desired. I ended cutting some 1x6 to beef up the support. it is difficult to move given the way the posts are, you will want 2 people or have slidders.

Overall I like how it looks but the foundation is very poorly made. It comes with three slats and they don't hold up much. The three slats/pieces of wood it comes with are cheap wood and bend easily. We had to go to the store and get more wood to better reinforce the bed. It was quite upsetting to pay decent money and get a poorly built product. I'm not sure how the foundation would hold up anyone over 120 pounds without bending and potentially breaking. I think there needs to be some more thought in how this bed is designed.

We loved our Alisdair King Bed! However, the king bed only came with 3 1x1 slats... To support a king mattress plus 2 people. We'd had the bed together for less than a day and I sat on the edge to put on my socks, and one of the 1x1 slats splintered. So we got 5 2x6s and created slats, and used 4x4 posts cut to size for the "feet". Went a little overkill on ours, but do keep in mind getting this bed that you will need to prepare to replace the "in the box" supports for the bed. Still, 4 stars because we love it!

I am at work and don't have photo. The look is very nice. However, the 3 tiny boards that went across under the mattress looked very flimsy to me. I went to Lowe's and purchased two much thicker boards and used a brick as the center support of those. I don't think your workmanship was good enough support for a King Size bed.

It's not brown as mentioned in the online order. It does resemble mahogany in color. I've never owned a sleigh bed but it's a good style and one which I won't get bruised when running into the footboard. It was easy to build with one exception: the screws on the crossboards were close to the border and this took elaborate contortion to get them in straight. Looks very nice and matches our mahogany side tables.

The 3 pieces of wood bar that runs across underneath to support the foundation box is not that strong. It probably needs at least 5. Secondly, the leg that make this wood bar as a screw that does not durable and it gets out of place. The screw & nuts is not stable. It needs a much better devise to keep it stable. I only bought this because of the price.

The slats that run along the bottom to hold the box spring were too long. Had to cut them to length and re-drill pilot holes. There were only 3 slats, should have been at least 5. There are 3 support posts for the slats. 1 of the slats did not have the embedded nut for the post. I added additional slats and modified them for more support posts.

The bed frame looks good and is solid around the visible parts. However, with they said, the underbelly framing that supports the bed sucks badly. The cross members are too flimsy to hold the bed up. Plus the feet given to hold up the center supports and weight failed the first night. Overall, it's a decent bed for the money, just be prepared to put your own stronger underbelly supports on if you actually plan to sleep on it.

Jit is a nice bed frame that was easy to put together. I wish Ashley would have put pilot holes for the wood screws supplied to attach the 3 wood cross pieces. Fortunately, I have a drill and\n drill bits, so I did it myself. Some people though, may not have a drill and drill bit.

This frame is pretty bad. It's made for mattresses with box springs and cannot support a mattress itself. It comes with 3 of the worlds tinniest skinniest wooden boards that are cut too short and are somehow supposed to hold the entire bed frame together. Because I had no box spring, I had to cut multiple plyboard pieces myself to properly support my mattress on this frame.\n\nThe picture attached shows the frame after adding plywood boards to support my mattress. Note, the 3 skinniest boards among them where all the frame came with.

Surprised by my order showing up 3 days early. I was able to get it assembled and in place the next day. Quality seems good. The only concern I had was a defective capscrew that had to be used in assembling the piece. I was able to work around the issue.
