This is a replacement for a chest freezer that I had for over 20 years. It has a capacity of 7.0 cubic feet, which is enough space to store a variety of frozen foods, and has an adjustable thermostat so you can set it to the perfect temperature. It also has a removable interior divider and two sliding storage baskets, which make it easy to organize your frozen food. The freezer is a manual defrost, which means you will need to defrost it periodically about every 6 months.

External corner of lid and freezer are crunched in and interior of freezer is also cracked in the same damaged corners. Will be returning it. Otherwise looking forward to having the new one sent.

It came really banged up on the outside but the interior is fine. Haven’t plugged it in yet but I’m going to give it a chance. It’s in my garage so I don’t really care about the dings as long as it works. That remains to be seen though. If you don’r see an update then just assume it works. If it doesn’t I’ll post an edit to ket you know.

We have only had this freezer for less than 24 hours, but so far it works well with no issues. We may have avoided the major complaint we saw here by avoiding the $99 fee from Home Depot and all of the complaints of damage to the unit on arrival. Instead, we rented a Van from the store for just $19.95, picked it up at the store, and brought it less than five miles to our home. There was no obvious damage to the outer box and much to our relief, not a single ding or scratch once we got it out of the box. We quickly got it plugged in and working. So far, we are very pleased with this purchase and will update this review if anything pops up as it gets more use. \r\n\r\nWe are especially pleased with the two baskets that are included as well as the moveable divider. It was very easy to get this freezer up and running following the directions included in the user manual.

The freezer is good but it has a dent when I took it out of the box

It had a huge bent in the back of it. Hopefully it will work fine.

I recently received my order, and although the delivery was prompt, I was disappointed to find that the product arrived damaged. The freezer is also surprisingly lightweight. I would like to request an exchange for a new, undamaged unit.\r\nThank you for your attention to this matter.

After reading reviews, stating that whebln they had this item delivered, it was damaged. So, i decided to drive the hour to my local Home Depot store, to purchase this deep freezer. I had the salesman help locate the freezer and did mention about how i drove an hour to pick up, because all of the reviews stated, how when they would receive the item, it was damaged upon delivery. The salesman said “they ship them directly from the factory and that happens”. Upon, getting the deep freezer home and unboxed, it was damaged. It does seam to seal ok. But, this is unacceptable!

Took a star off because it was dented on the bottom in one corner upon opening—a pretty significant dent. We have a baby under one and it is too much to try and repackage it and take it back. Works fine and I like the actual size of the freezer.

Nice deep freezer. Didnt read all the reviews before purchasing. Seems like a lot of people received their deep freezer dented, as well as mine, but luckily mine is just a small dent right in front. Other than that, no complaints.

There’s so many dents all over the fridge and it’s just troublesome to have it be replaced so I guess I have to accept it. I’ve read others with the same problem but I was hoping it won’t be like that. It’s just too bad…

I have been reading reviews for weeks and found this Magic Chef 7.0 deep freezer to have the highest reviews. When I purchased this, it said it would be delivered on Wednesday, 9/6. We stayed home all day waiting. It wasn’t delivered until today, 9/7. We were not home. It was left in front of our garage. When we unboxed it, we were BLOWN AWAY by the damage of this. I was only able to add 1 photo. I have 7 photos of damage on the front, sides, back and top. I am looking forward to hearing from Home Depot.

Had to make an emergency purchase after my old chest freezer stopped working and i nearly lost 100 pounds of wild game. \r\n\r\nThis freezer shows in the pictures, description, reviews and in Q/A that there are two lights- one to show the unit has power and one to show when the compressor is running. This is not accurate anymore. The freezer I picked up has only the green "compressor running" light and no light to show that the unit is getting power. \r\n\r\nAlso, plastic baskets instead of metal

Good small size with a lot of storage capacity. I live in a smaller apartment, so this size is perfect for me. Had it for a month and it has helped unclutter the fridge top freezer.

I let the freezer get to temp first 24 hours. I used a IR thermal camera to evaluate the interior temps. The spots above the mechanicals had surface temps of 35F not over the mech and it was below zero as expected. I laid down a couple of ice trays to quasi insulate the food from touching those spots. It did arrive with a couple minor dents. Probably the biggest pain was removing the protective plastic film. That was not trivial and a multi day process.

Arrived dented in multiple places. Please see photos. Home Depot was able to assist me with my concerns. Overall satisfied.

Great purchase. I needed a deep freezer but I didn’t have a lot of room. It was easy to move and set-up was a breeze.

Working all good so far & surprisingly took more load than l thought.

This is a defect and not working. \r\nMy side-by-side fridge with the freezer side started not cooling anymore (28F.) I went to Home Depot to buy a new freezer in an emergency, but they were not available to deliver my item on the same day. My car is quite small, so I had to pay a friend with a bigger car $55 to help with delivery. The new freezer was delivered but defective and wasn't working at all. I called customer service right after noticing the freezer was defective, but they did nothing to help compensate for any inconvenience that caused my time and money for delivery and spoiled foods. Now, I had to bring this defective freezer to the Home Depot store by myself after all of these troubles. All I asked HD was to please just to help pick up the defective product at my house because it was their responsibility not to test this appliance at the store before this delivery to me.

The first order was damaged, waited almost 2 weeks and the 2nd on that arrived was also damaged. However, this damage was not discovered until the box was opened. I just decided to keep the freezer anyways because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of having to return it again. It works fine, so I just dealt with it.

Got the 5.0 freezer thinking the smaller one would be too small. The 5.0 is quite a bit larger than ecpected.. which is great! It got to temp 0 within a few hours and has run perfectly so far.. about a month. Fingers crossed. Shipped and delivered with no issues. Love that we can stock up on sale items, especially meat and chicken. Refrigerator freezer just has ice and bread now ?. Overall very happy. Did get extended warranty as nothing seems to last anymore which is why I didn't buy anything more expensive

This 7.0 cu.ft. chest freezer is exactly what we were looking for! It's just the right size for the wife and me. The two baskets let us grab often used food quickly. There is a power on light and an easy-to-use temperature adjustment knob right in front at the bottom The built-in drain will be a welcome feature when defrosting is needed. The freezer also has a built in LED light that is bright and should last forever. The Magic Chef freezer is affordable, and I highly recommend it.

Like many other reviews, this thing came best up. Dents all over!!! And the lid is off centered. Definitely seems like it was built very poorly, dropped and/or hit. To me, it looks like a forklift hit the bottom of it.

Freezer was delivered in great condition. I’m am very pleased after one month of having it that it holds a temperature of minus ten degrees at setting number three. I bought this magic chef 8.7 cu. after buying my first 7.0 cu. Magic chef for all the garden vegetables I grew this summer. I will have fresh veggies till my next harvest next season. Both are running flawlessly. I’m very happy with them both.

Placed this 3.5 cu ft manual chest freezer upright for 24 hrs before plugging it in. Set the thermostat at 7, the highest setting as recommended in the manual. After another 24 hours, the empty freezer temp was at -10 F. Filled the freezer, reduced the thermostat to 6. The freezer has been operating at 0 F for the past 30 days and I am happy with it.
