The headphones sound very good not mindblowingly special but very good. \n\nThe bass is very good. Warm, good separation. Good mids too. The treble is the main part that doesn’t blow my mind. I have definitely heard headphones with better treble range and clarity. \n\nI have heard both the XM6 and Bose QCUltra 2 as well. The Sony’s profile is inferior to both. It just sounds messy. I can’t listen to them for long periods of time with enjoyment. \n\nBose has a very good unique sound. Very nice separation. Very warm organic sound with nice vocal emphasis. I also like the customization options, the only thing is it lacks treble. Moreso than the Airpods Max. \n\n\nAirpods Max definitely sounds the best of the three but the Bose is also very good.\n\nI also think the Airpods Max’s unique cushions are the best. My ears don’t sweat as much with their material as they do with the other two. \n\nThings I dont like. The Airpods Max are not super comfortable. It fits very tight on my head. I wish they opened up bigger. I also dont care for the volume dial and button. The volume dial is not very precise and is easy to accidentally touch. The button placement is just not as convenient as they could be. Lastly, I dont really care for the way they fold. The cups always cling against each other by design.\n\nOut of the three, I think the Bose are the overall best. The sound is uniquely satisfying, it has the perfect balance of customization options, the headphones are very light and the most comfortable. I also think they look the nicest. \n\nUnlike the Sony’s the Bose aren’t fingerprint magnets. The Sony’s get dirty very easily.

Even though there are many things I disliked about the first version of this product, I am buying a second pair. My first pair stopped connecting reliably after 5 years of use. While I was trying to debug the first pair, I thought I could switch to some Sennheisers that I had previously purchased and found I really preferred the sound and noise canceling of the Airpods Max. One piece of advice: Do not buy the white version of this product. Unless you have much better hygiene than me, they quickly become grungy-looking. The detachable ear-pieces are relatively easy to clean but it is a chore you do not need. My new pair is black. Over time, the elastic webbing in the headband will become stretched out and sag but it doesn't seem to affect the wearability. Nobody likes the case but to be honest, I never accumulated any damage to the exposed headband in 5 years although I do not travel a lot. The Airpods Max are heavy but you get used to it after a couple of weeks and I do think the weight contributes to the sound isolation and quality.

Initially, I was put off by the price. However, within an hour of putting these on my head, I didn’t want to ever take them off. I’m pretty sure if I leave them on in the shower it won’t be covered by AppleCare. The sound is epic. They’re pretty comfortable on my giant noggin and elephant ears. Unlike those I’ve had previously the Apple specific features like directional sound are pretty dadgum cool. The noise canceling works better than any I’ve ever encountered, and I’ve tested dozens of noise canceling headsets over the years. The ease of use is right up there against all Apple products with crown is easy to adjust for volume and command, and the other button can be conveniently assigned all in all I really don’t wanna take these off and still I must go take a shower. Wish me luck.

My wife and I have been Bose noise cancelling headphone users for decades. I purchased this pair of Apple AirPods Max for my wife. Both she and I agree they are the most comfortable headphones we have ever tried, and the best performance. The noise cancelling is superb, the comfort is sublime, and the design is smart. Just a quick press of the front button switches from NC to "transparent" mode so you can hear a pilot's announcement, etc. without ever having to remove the headset. The rotating "crown" button easily adjusts volume and it can also quickly skip music tracks back or forward or pause without ever having to touch your smartphone. Smart. Easy. Comfortable. Great choice.

I was happy enough with Sony Quiet Comfort headphones other than needing to turn them off, and turn them on again and go through the Bluetooth pairing process over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. This while switching between computer, iPad, and iPhone. It was very awkward and often resulted problems for myself and those with whom I was communicating with. The "transparency" mode on this is super. Incredibly useful, Airports, not blocking people out when needing headphones at home. The noise canceling works really well too.

It’s been about three months since purchasing these amazing headphones. PROS. I have been loving the battery life and of course the sound quality especially with Apple Music. They also connect to my Samsung smart tv and my Asus gaming laptop with the same quality sound. CONS. The ear cushions start to smell like sweat if you workout or go running they should have made them sweat resistant for the price they lacked on that but still very comfortable on your ears

From ease of pairing to use to listening experienced, these AirPods Max don't disappoint. The only downside is the price, especially if you don't find them on sale. They are comfortable for extended wear, stay in place while hiking, and seem to have excellent battery life, although I've only owned them for a couple of weeks.

love my airpod max's! they change the complete vibe of the room you're in - making you feel like you're in your own world. i use them mostly to work out. although i love them they do have their downside when it comes to lying down. since the actual earpieces are a little heavy it weighs down the entire earphones when you lay down or tilt your head down and i do find that the earphones themselves get a little sweaty when i work out. other than that i love them!

Absolutely love my AirPod max. The battery life is good, they are durable, great sound quality and they fit perfect. I find them very comfortable for like studying, listening to music or hearing a podcast. I do not like them as much for the gym or when I am being to active.
