Building a new Laundry Room - We needed a Washer/Dryer unit that is simple to use and help me by making decisions (how much soap and softener to use, what time to set for drying etc etc) and thus make the job as seamless as possible - ENTER the LG Studio: not an inexpensive unit, this is top end in price, but read on, because the cost to value comparison makes this a 'spend that little bit extra and get a disproportionate amount of extra happy happy happy!"\n\nIt was delivered with the old units taken away - I have to add that the two delivery gentlemen were actually amazing: thank you 'delivery Gods' for giving me a good one! \n\nI have never owned an intelligent machine; you can deposit the soaps into a reservoir and the system takes what it wants during the process - it works out how many clothes are inserted by weight (both washer and dryer) then tells you how long the cycles will be - everything is visible on the dashboard - both the washer and the dryer have their own data showing. \n\nBefore placing in it's final resting place, to put the units through its paces and test the water connections, we used it for 3 wash/dry loads. Three very different weight loads and 3 different water heat loads. On each occasions, the reading for length of wash and dry was different and the clothes came out of the dryer perfect (so the wife says - it's her that has to be pleased). For most of the experiment we had both the washer and the dryer working simultaneously, it was so quite...... I went to the room above and I could not hear it. Wow!! \n\nWe have solar and I was able to check consumption on my phone app - when the dryer was working, there was no more of a spike than when I turn on my A/C split unit.\n\nPOSITIVE: Looks great - efficient electrical cost - SUPER QUITE - electric Dryer is plug & play (220V) no need for a gas engineer to install the gas connections - NO disappointment here, it actually does exactly what it was designed to do - this is not an empty promise product - has filter at the bottom of the unit that catches small solids that get caught in the filter (wife and sister-in-law really liked that) - the unit pumps the expelled water from the washer to a height of 8 feet (very important for a basement installation where the drain pipes are above the unit)\n\nNEGATIVES: Heavy, although can be done by one person, get a second person to help - if you don't have 220V, you will need to get installed.\n\nOVERALL - my wife absolutely loves the build quality, the functionality and wash results - that means, I'm a happy man!

Summary: super-sleek look, all digital touch-screen control, everything included. Contrary to what it says in the description about the dryer, NEITHER door can be switched to open the other direction, even though they are the same exact doors you find on models that CAN be reversed; this model just isn't set up to do it (too many electronic gizmos inside, I think). Home Depot included a 4" flexible metal vent and installed the dryer power cordon delivery; tower came with extra water hose for the steam function and a Y converter. Despite the "studio" name, this is not an apartment-size unit; the washer is full-size and the dryer is cavernous. The display for both is easy to read: move between different modes with a simple swipe; tap Settings to change alert volume, connect to Wi-Fi, and much more. The lights inside the drums are very helpful so no sock is left behind in either one. The washer does the normal amount of clicking and clacking for a front-loader as it goes though its cycle; the dryer is smooth and quiet. After you select a mode, you can still tweak things like temperature, spin speed, and soil level (washer) and dryness and heat level (dryer) on the touch screen. Connecting to it through LG's ThinQ app gives you communication like Smart Diagnosis, energy monitoring, alerts, and remote stop/start. This makes much better use of the space in our laundry room, giving us room to build a little laundry table beside it. Caveats: (1) even with Energy Saver on, which is supposed to make things dry at lower temps over a little longer time period for less damage to clothes, it still gets so hot I can't keep my hand on the dryer exhaust; I guess I need to find a cycle that dries at a lower temp to start with (2) we use powdered detergent (doesn't leave behind the animal fat liquids are made from, which can eventually smell), so the auto-dosing feature doesn't work for us, but even though I set the dispense level to zero, it still warns me every time I turn it on that it's empty :-) (3) the dryer warns me to clean the lint trap every time I turn it on (might be a setting for 2 and 3), and (4) the non-reversible doors. But overall this is a very sleek step-up in the user-interface department, making washing and drying clothes almost as much fun as setting up a Laundry Jams playlist. Just hope my washer/dryer doesn't get together with my ThinQ dishwasher and gang up on me for better working conditions or something :-). (P.S. White was unavailable and we were offered a swap to Noble Steel)

This replaced a washer/dryer with intuitive control knobs, so it took some time and experimentation to do what I wanted. The touch sensitive controls are not as intuitive. For example, I found myself pressing the top and bottom ends of the high/low range settings before I eventually realized it was a simple switch that cycled through all of the settings. It also took me awhile to understand that by clicking on the Timed Dry control when it was not lit, caused it to light up and the Temp Dry setting stopped being lit up. It would probably be better if all of the feature settings were at least dimly lit, half way lit when not chosen, and brightly lit when chosen. Those that are not lit cannot be read at all on the black control panel. One thing I was able to do on the old knob controls was to be able to change certain things after starting the wash or dry. For instance, when I start the wash and realize that the temp is not where I wanted to set it, or I wanted to add more time to the time setting, or change the dryness level. I usually do my own installs, but this appliance is large and heavy. I'm glad I opted to let the pros handle it, they did an excellent job. This LG Studio WashTower might free up space for some people but it is essentially a full size large capacity washer and dryer, just stacked up. This is my first front load washer and so far, I'm sold on front load over top load. I'm 5' 10". I have to kneel to get everything out of the washer which is not an issue. The dry is perfect since I only have to reach in to load or remove items. The control panel which controls both washer and dryer is in the center which is super convenient. As far as performance, my wife and I have both mentioned how much faster we finish our laundry now. The wash times on our old washer (which was also a large capacity) were super long. This LG WashTower does a much better job in far less time. We use to use detergent pods. I absolutely love the ez dispenser for detergent and fabric softener. Beyond refilling the dispenser when its low, you don't have to bother with either one when doing laundry. Our last washer and dryer were also connected but the usefulness of the LG app and this WashTower are far beyond our last set. The WashTower is easy to use but it is also a pretty sophisticated appliance. You will want to take a little time to check out all the feature, functions, and options. Lastly, this WashTower is just a really nice looking appliance. We're doing an entire bathroom remodel just to make everything as nice as the WashTower. Since this is the top LG model, it's a tad pricey but I highly recommend.

I have had my machines about a year and a half. I have had absolutely no issues until recently one of the dryer drums cracked. How does that happen to a steel drum? I haven’t the foggiest idea. I do have extended warranties for both, a tech was sent out within a few days and diagnosed it within a minute of looking inside the dryer. He told me they would replace the drum. A few days later I received a call that they would be replacing the entire machine, my guess is you would have to disassemble the entire housing to swap the drum out, which would be too expensive. More expensive than a whole new machine apparently. I’m not going to complain. I do a ton of laundry, and both of my machines have heavy use every week. I clean them as directed, wash lint traps, wipe seals and run washer cleaner through them regularly, pull the drawers and clean them, empty the filter at the bottom, etc. and have never had a problem with smell or mold. Pulling them out to clean behind and under them is a task as they are heavy, mine are on sliders for this reason, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to get them to budge. I would buy these machines again and again, the capacity is great, they don’t take too long to run cycles and there is a cycle for everything. I wish they made pedestals for them as the washer is a little low to bend down into, I’m not sure why LG hasn’t done this yet, but if they do I will certainly buy them for my machines. I would recommend them and also recommend the warranty company through Home Depot, my claim was handled very quickly.

First unit I received was not good. The washing machine sounded like a turbo jet and it was just unbearable. Even after leveling, the unit bounced around and made so much noise. The dryer also would stop before my clothes were dry. I called BestBuy immediately and they sent out a replacement. The new unit work’s beautifully. It’s quiet and I have no issues so far. \n\nAnd just to clear up any confusion. The dryer DOES NOT come with a plug. Makes sense because they don’t know what kind of outlet you have. I have a 4 prong outlet and connected everything myself. The directions are right on the back of the dryer or look up a YouTube video. It’s a pretty straightforward install. Plug cost about $30 extra.

I've had this washtower for two weeks and like it. It replaced a full sized Whirlpool washer and driver that stacked in a closet under a stair well. This LG washtower is the same full size for washer and driver portions but is about 2 inches narrower and a bit shorter in height. I like being able to store some light supplies on the top and on the floor in front of the unit. Operation of the unit is not straightforward, so you'll want to read the owner's manual. I am very pleased with this washer and dryer that I bought 6 months ago. It has a very sleek look. I like that it has a large space for a queen comforter. I was able to wash 3 pillows inside. It can fit 4 but I don't want to overdo it. This is a one piece washer & dryer, no need for brackets to attached together. It fits in our small condo. The only con is it doesn't dry the clothes that much specially bulky items. I have to add another 10-20 mins quick dry. But all in all it's a good buy.

Very nice machine. I have been using this for about one month and the machine is nice and quiet and gets the job done. I really like the app associated with the machine that reminds\r\nyou when to clean the tub and do different maintenance on the machine, it makes me feel like the product will last. As far as washing machines go it is also quite aesthetically pleasing which is a nice bonus. Overall I would recommend this machine to my friends or family based on my experience so far.

Only had this installed for a month now but first impressions are positive. Seems to clean well, much faster than our top loader commercial washer we replaced. Conversely the gas dryer is a bit slower in drying than the commercial model, but I'm hoping that the heat cycle will be better in the long run for our clothes. Ample cycle selection and my wife does enjoy the custom welcome screens I put on for her. Only time will tell, but at first glance it seems to be a good purchase.

This is a wonderful wash/dryer combo. Buy beware of LOWES's AI trying to make you buy items you don't need to install. The buyer must check on the features and gas pipe sizes before assuming that LOWES know the install items you need. They are just wanting to sell stuff. This dryer doesn't have a steam dry feature, but they will try to sell you an install water hose kit. GAS line inlet has three different kits you must get the correct one for your house.

Product is good but not compatible with new builds. \n\nThe new electric breakers and GFCI outlets prevent the machine from operating correctly when it uses hot water. It flips the breaker every time. This leaves the homeowner having to replace a safe GFCI outlet with a non-GFCI outlet or illegally modify the breaker box to operate the washer. I really like the u it but it has been an expensive issue to track down and resolve.

My daughter has 8 kids so she does a ton of laundry. We got this for her to help her out. With limited space in her laundry room our ultimate plan is to get her a second one that is electric. I ran a gas line to it and added a second dryer vent. For now she has her old LG dryer alongside the washtower. The plan was to use the old dryer as well as the new one since generally it takes longer to dry than to wash. So far she hasnt needed the old dryer because the washtower gas dryer dries pretty fast. She loves the feature where she can add the laundry soap and do up to 15 loads without refilling. This helps her kids that are learning to do laundry first not to make a mess with the soap and second it dispenses the proper amount each time. There are so many features she hasnt learned them all yet. The capacity for both the washer and dryer are very large. You could easily wash a sleeping bag or a comforter. But this has made her busy life more enjoyable. She said its like having a computer in her laundry room. The laundry room is upstairs. Thanks to the Home Depot Delivery team they carried it up the flight of stairs and put it right in her laundry room with no complaints and they did a professional job.

I've had this washer and dryer for about 8 months. I do 1-3 loads of laundry everyday. It's much quieter then my old Samsung, and it seems to wash faster as well. In the last month it has been leaking out of the front door on the occasion . so far 4xs. I can't figure out why but this is a complete inconvenience .

It's a great combo does a great job works well the only down part is the actual manufacture craftsmanship as they rust and in some case cause problems with access to utilities of the washer but I will not blame that on the machine as it continues to work I will just blame it on LG for their lack of foresight

I can’t complain… this is an awesome washer and dryer. Better than my last one. Very quite and cleans clothes very well. The only thing is the washer has a smell of rubber after a wash. All you need to do is wipe it dry and air dry it. So far so good.

This is a very good unit with plenty of options for the different types of laundry that anyone might want to do. As with any major appliance, it is essential to ensure that there is enough space for it, especially as combination units like this are often used in places with limited space, such as apartments, and need sufficient clearance, especially in the depth (to accommodate the vent hose for the dryer). These are large units, excellent for washing large loads and larger items, but of course take up more space than smaller washers. This unit also requires both a 220 and a 110 electric line, unlike the smaller units. This is something to remember when upgrading from a smaller unit. The washer and dryers are quite quiet, and easy to operate from the panel on the front. It is not particularly easy to set up the app so it can be used with wifi, but I did manage to that. Although there are pre-programmed cycles, many options (like temperature and spin) can be set to customize the cycles as the owner prefers.

The good: now that I fixed it, this unit works well and is very quiet. You can barely tell that it is running!\nThe bad: I installed it and started performing tests as per the manual. It heated up but was kind of smokey? Then would not heat up, only air dry. Contacted LG and that person said I needed my vent professionally cleaned... So I took apart my dryer myself, and discovered that the tube with the element was detached from the back air port and was resting on the floor of the dryer. Which explains why the high limit fuse was blown (no actual airflow through the tube when disconnected) So I ordered some fuses, swapped it out, and good to go. (Happily, this unit disassembles pretty easily) Had I not just DIY'd it, I fear I'd still be waiting..\n\nThe Ugly: had unit delivered and there was some damage- front face of the dryer had some creases in sheet metal. Cosmetic only, and Home Depot gave me some $ to compensate. Also, the strike plate for the dryer door was cracked. LG sent me a new one to swap in.\nTLDR - delivery and quality control issues I had to fix myself to make this work. Happy now though.
