I'm Without a doubt, our LG 4.2 cu.ft. compact electric condensing front load dryer has been an ideal addition to our small apartment for the past five years. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the LG DLHC1455W heat pump dryer to replace an older full-size gas dryer in our basement. While the LG dryer\u2019s capacity is smaller than the dryer it replaced, we find that the dryer\u2019s capacity more than meets our needs as a retired couple - there are just the two of us.We were approaching this purchase with two items in mind: 1) mature heat pump technology to avoid burning fossil fuel and/or electric resistive heating; and 2) reduce makeup air requirements in our home. Operationally, using any heat pump dryer requires a bit of adjustment - chiefly in the length of time it takes to complete a dryer load.This is NOT excessive at all. Routine maintenance chores - emptying the condensation container, cleaning the lint filters - require no special skills or unusual amounts of time.In fact, we had planned to purchase and plumb a condensate pump for this dryer to automatically pump the condensate to the washer drain, but quickly found that emptying the built-in condensation container to the adjacent sink was no chore at all.The instructions provided with the dryer are more than adequate for the novice user and do contain instructions for installing the included condensate drain hose as well as for changing the orientation of the door - which we did perform in under 10 minutes.In summary, in the 12 days since its arrival, the dryer has perfectly and gently handled the 18 loads we\u2019ve presented to it with absolutely no problems or special actions on our part.We can both gladly recommend this dryer.

I've used this LG Electric Dryer with Dual Inverter Heat Pump Technology for about two weeks. First, this dryer looks amazing. The buttons, knob, and display are all very nice. After using it in my home I've decided to move it to our river front vacation home. I was able to monitor electric usage while this was at our main home. The savings is significant but I like to power through my laundry. With this dryer, I had two washed loads waiting while the first load was still drying. This dryer does a great job but it takes time. I recommend this dryer but only to people that do a load here and there.

My previous dryer was an LG and performed wonderfully.\r\nThe problem with this one is, lack of options control on the dryer temps. This dryer runs extremely hot. I use it mainly for sheets and towels and am concerned about how much life will be left in them drying at hot temps.\r\nI am playing around with the controls and find I can use Manual or Mixed Fabrics to get a lower setting.\r\nAnother flaw is that the sheets tend to ball up. After about 20 minutes I have to go and separate them no matter how I place them in the dryer.\r\nI now dry the towels in one batch and the sheets in the other (they still ball up).\r\nOn the upside the condenser tube goes directly into the drain eliminating the water reservoir.

We moved into a condo with this dryer pre installed because its ventless. It was pretty much new. It worked fine at first but then like others have complained, it got worse and worse at drying over time and needed multiple cycles for many hours to dry one load of wash. The maintenance is a bit unusual for me but so far it seems worth it. I moved into a home that was not set up for a traditional type of dryer and this also influenced my choosing this machine and matching pair. It gets the laundry clean. But I do not like the time I have to spend wiping all the water from around the rubber door seal. I’m guessing it is about an 1/8 of a cup after the cycle finishes.\r\nIf I keep closing and opening the door it drips and drips after wiping and wiping it around the seal. I leave the door open at night, but it would never all evaporate if I did not keep wiping out the droplets.

I bought this dryer in June 2021. It takes a long time to dry clothes, but works fine. Sometimes with mixed loads, the towels will come out moist. Towels should be dried separately on the towel setting. There are two lint filters which must be cleaned between each cycle. I have not been able to find replacement filters. This concerns me as eventually these filters will wear out or become damaged.

Definitely buy the service agreement. Don't know the statistics, but these dryers are made of plastic. So glad I was covered when 4 years into the 5 year contract, the motor burned out. Happily, they came, took the entire dryer apart and replaced the bad parts. Wonder if I can extend the service warranty....

I like the dryer. It works well, has a lot of features, and is fairly quiet. My only complaint is that it takes about twice as long as any other dryer I've ever used to dry. Not sure why that is since one of the selling features was that it's fast. Oh well.

My hubby told me about this dryer before it was even available at HD - he was excited by the idea of a super high-efficiency ventless electric dryer to replace our older, larger dryer and be able to close off the vent. We live in an area with cold winters, so we try to minimize heat loss areas such as vents. Now that we have the dryer of his dreams, we are not disappointed (he says it’s magical). It is remarkably quiet and much smaller than our previous dryer. Note that if you don’t install a drain, you will have to empty the reservoir (but we think it’s kinda cool to see how much water this little dryer pulled out of our clothes). I love how many settings it has, including the fact that it dries clothes really well on low temperature - which should help our clothes and linens last longer. I also appreciate that it rotates clothes after a cycle is finished so you don’t have to use the old-style wrinkle release. The automatic setting takes about two hours. Some moisture is released, so where I have this installed in a laundry closet, I keep one closet door cracker to allow the moisture to escape.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little nervous to buy this product after reading some bad reviews saying the clothes did not dry. That has certainly not been my experience. If anything, it seems the sensor dry keeps drying after what I feel the clothes are completely dry and I will sometimes stop the dryer and take the clothes out. I have my dryer hooked up so that the water goes down the drain rather than collecting in the reservoir and this is really great. The instructions are very clear on how to install this so that it does go down the drain as there is only one cap that is removed from the bottom of the t-piece on the side of the dryer after disconnecting the tube that goes to the reservoir and placing it on top. I would just say I'm very happy and I can't understand the bad reviews, but maybe LG made some improvements or I just got lucky. Anyway, I really love my dryer. The dryer has the stacking brackets that are used to stack on top of the washing machine. Nothing extra to buy!.

Love the compact size however it takes 3-4 times the drying time. My solution is to get it partially dried and then remove it to a drying rack. Since it’s a condo and vacation home, it will have to do. I still am unable to link it to the app thru wifi.

I’m very disappointed with this dryer. \r\n\r\nI’ve had this dryer for 10 days and it’s given me nothing but grief. \r\n\r\nI’m surprised to see so many good reviews on here. I’ve had nothing but bad luck with this dryer. I’m wondering if these reviews are fake. \r\n\r\nProblems:\r\n\r\n• Large items like sheets and blankets roll up into a ball and don’t dry. The outside of the ball dries, while the inside stays wet and wrinkled! After I open the dryer, pull the ball apart, and start the dryer up again, they roll back into a ball in about ONE minute. I’m not joking. One. Minute. \r\n• It takes a very long time to dry anything. Even little baby clothes take forever. \r\n• The medium and low heat settings don’t work. Don’t bother with them. Everything has to be set to high, even if the fabric care label says tumble dry low or medium. Otherwise, clothes don’t dry.\r\n• There are too many unnecessary, complicated settings. You have to read the manual to understand what each setting does. I’ve experimented with several settings, and none of them seem to make sense or be useful. \r\n• You can’t set it for short, simple dry cycles. I wanted to dry a damp item for 15 minutes. Nope, you can’t do 15 minutes. The machine wags its finger at you if you try (it literally beeps at you if you try). \r\n• The time delay dry feature is a minimum of three hours. The other day, I wanted to delay start by an hour. Nope. Again, it wags its reproachful finger at you if you try to set the delayed dry to less than 3 hours.\r\n\r\nYes, I read through the manual. It was useless. Yes, I’m following all the proper steps to clean out the lint dryer, empty the water reservoir, etc. But these steps don’t address my issues. \r\n\r\nI wish I’d spent a little extra money on a different brand. I paid nearly $1000 for it after taxes and delivery fees. Such a waste!

I love the looks, features and ease of use. I have drain hose so emptying the water basin isn't an issue. My clothes come out feeling slightly damp but after shaking out and folding they are dry. You can get them dry like this and it doesn't take anywhere near the times some reviews have said. I use eco setting and heated dry a lot and usually after 40 minutes they are dry. Other options are available . No issues with moisture and I'm in humid Florida.

Small house or apartment and want to save space, well you have found the perfect dryer. This LG 4.2 cu.ft. stack able compact ventless dryer is so full of features it will amaze you. Now while it is made and comes with the hardware to stack the dryer on top of the washer it can be used on its own. The user manual is the best, everything you need to know is there. This unit can be used wireless via the LGThinQ Application. You can add the drain line or use the a pull out tank to drain water. Its always best to get a qualified electrician to install the wiring. 5 star on this great product

This is the second condenser dryer I've owned, so I understand how they work. Bought for a difficult vent space. Noticed that it took at least twice as long to dry anything in the beginning but there are only two of us so that was ok. I did buy the extended warranty due to unfamiliar tech. After about 18 months I noticed it was taking hours to dry one set of sheets and 6 hours for a couple of towels. Have to draining the water and running condenser setting. No difference. Two warranty calls with a $200 electrician in between.Lg will not allow the technician to check anything but the voltage sensor. Electrician says voltage being delivered is fine per specs on the side of the machine. Have contacted the “President” via the LG page to get permission to proceed past the sensor test. A real catch 22 if you know the reference.i like LG products. I will buy the vented version of this compact dryer. But beware of my story because they so far they will not allow a repair despite the warranty, both the one I purchased and the 10 year condenser warranty listed on the front of the machine, and have not responded to my request to talk to an engineer vs customer service rep. I spend about $150 or so on an LG warranty which has proved useless, 200$ on an electrician who has said the voltage meets the requirements, the dryer has two dedicated fuses, the wall socket is fine and the cord to the dryer is fine. I don’t begin to understand. Oh and of course I bought the dryer..I don’t like to leave bad reviews but I am frustrated and have been trying to get help and permission to look at the machine beyond the voltage sensor and have failed since August. This is one of the first warranty plans I have purchased. I should have known better. It seems like they always look for a reason to not pay out or find a loophole.
