Turns out that Onkyo is the ONLY manufacturer out there that bothers to send sub-20Hz frequencies to the subwoofer output's Low Frequency Effects (LFE) channel. The high end receivers (like this one, TX-RZ-50) have a frequency range of 5Hz to 100,000Hz, while the low and mid range receivers deliber 10Hz to 50,000Hz. I called every major manufacturers Tech Support to confirm this. \n\nI tried an Onkyo soundbar at first, sounded FANTASTIC, then bought a premium Yamaha receiver and was astonished at the way the bass rolled off dramatically as it neared 20Hz, difference was night and day, and once you experience real, accurate bass down into the sub-20Hz range you NEVER want to listen without it. I returned the Aventage receiver and got this Onkyo, now bass sounds FANTASTIC again, you FEEL it deep down in your gut, shakes the whole house (using Klipsch Reference Premier 1200SW, 12").
