Heard great things about this player and it has indeed lived up to everything. \r\n \r\nIt has a huge amount of options which lets you really fine-tune things for your particular setup. In my case, I'm using a mini LED 4K TV, so enabled the HDR optimizer to normalize output to 1000 nits. Also set up the unit to handle the chroma processing as it seems to be better than the TV in that department. \r\n \r\nThe physical build of the unit is outstanding. Tray is quite robust and moves very smoothly. \r\n \r\nExcellent that the remote has a backlight. Also really like the info display to show you exactly what type of signal the player is outputting. And like the HDR info screen as well. \r\n \r\nThere are so many different ways to connect the player to your system. I'm using a single HDMI output which is working very well. \r\n \r\nI was having lip sync issues, and while this player does allow you to adjust a delay, I have since found that using a delay in my AV receiver leads to a better result. If I couldn't solve the lip sync issue this way, I was then going to look using the two separate HDMI outputs. Glad the single HDMI is working well, but do like having the extra flexibility of different ways to connect this player. \r\n \r\nHighly recommended; worth every penny!

It is really heavy. I bet is made to last. Things that are heavy are usually made better. It was expensive so it better last me a long time. I haven't really used it a lot. So, I can't say too much about it. Other than it better last.

I've had this unit for just over a year. Picture and sound quality are great, and the thing feels like it's built like a tank. It looks great in my setup, and I feel good knowing I have something so solid. The streaming functionality is atrocious due to the horribly laggy GUI, but let's be honest. If you are shelling out the cash for this player, you probably have a dedicated streamer also. I have noticed that the disk tray will not close when pressing the button on the player or remote, from time to time however a simple push on the tray always results in it closing properly. If I were to do this again, I'd probably buy the 820 and save a bunch of money. Still, this is a great player, and you will not be disappointed.

This unit is fantastic! I run a 100" 4K Ultra HD tv, a Panasonic blu-ray player, and a turntable through it. Amazing sound and easy to connect all of the units. I highly recommend this receiver/amplifier.

One of 3 BD players I own. Finally got a display that is worthy of this source. PQ is very good if not the best available. The analog section of this player sounds very good even w/just a few hrs on it. Analog level setting per their built in program does not work. Will not stay on one speaker long enuff to take reading and set level. Skips sub all together. Waiting for Pany CS to reply back to me. One year warranty is troubling so I bought extended. That's the way everything is going. One well known consumer battery manufacturer offers no warranty. Remote has a back light button, 5 secs. Have not gotten into advanced video settings. I need a BD, 4K, HDR test disc. At least there us some weight to this thing and it is not in jeopardy of being blown off the shelf by my HVAC like the 400 series Pany BD player.

Good product. I have had mine since 2018-2019. Loses one star due to fact they advertise it supports DSD files but for some dumb reason it can\u2019t playback Super Audio CDs which are basically DSD files.

I bought this player 8 months ago and it is fantastic! Built like a tank. Heavy chassis and beefy gauge power cable and completely silent when running. It is pricey but plays all discs perfectly! Couldn\u2019t be happier! You get what you pay for.

As 4K televisions get better, the availability of high-quality source to occupy the TV's capabilities has dwindled to this player, and only this player. Pioneer and Oppo, the only competition to Panasonic in the high-end segment, have left the market. Streaming and low-end 4k Blue-Ray players don't even come close to this quality of source. The difference in picture and sound quality between the Panasonic and other sources is dramatic, not just a step change. As the saying goes, garbage in, garbage out, or in the case of the DP-UB9000, Hi-definition in, hi-definition out. Don't waste your time with its streaming capabilities, buy a library of 4k discs to go with this player and a good tv and enjoy!

I put this in the closet for when my oppo 205 drops dead.

I have been using (I thought) high end 4K UHD Blu-ray players for a few years, but I got frustrated by my Sony constantly freezing when it switched layers. This machine plays discs that froze on the Sony perfectly. It's video upscaling and HDR enhancements are quite obvious. One thing to keep in mind: setting up the video, make sure you choose 4.4.4 output, so you get what you are paying for. And on the audio, set the outputs to bitstream to fully send all of the channels to your AV receiver to decode. I am glad I bought it.

I upgraded from the Panasonic DP-UB820 and for me it is worth the extra expense for the build quality alone. The 820 is weightless and feels really really cheap. I wanted a player that would last a really long time because I'm unsure of how much longer physical media will be viable and quality players will be available on the market. This 9000 feels promising. As for performance, the 9000 is amazing! But so is the 820. I haven't done an A/B comparison between the two, but I never had anything to complain about with the picture or sound quality via HDMI with the 820 to begin with. However, the upscaling from HD to 4K on BD discs is impeccable on the 9000 - really amazing!

Never thought i would invest in a expensive Blu-ray %26 4k DVD Player. But reading and seeing all the hype about device. I went on an bit the bullet. I already have a pretty nice home entrainment system so I decided to add on a quality video player.

AUDIO AND VIDEO PLAYBACK IS EXCEPTIONAL

Works great with disks. Sound and image are clear and sharp. Interface is a little cumbersome. I main problem is it won"t read .str subtitle files for .mp4 files. I watch a lot of foreign films. Lots of options for various output formats. Wish it could read SACD and DVD-A formats. The model first came out about 6 years ago can't it be updated?

I was really hoping for the best with this unit. The DP9000P1K has such a phenominal build and quality feel to it, but unfortunately mine had issues out of the box both times. I recently purchased my first unit and out of the box it would intermittently encounter issues reading certain Blu-ray DVDs. Sometimes it would read the disc and other times it wouldn't. The lazer pickup would make strange noises, while trying to read the DVD and would then give up and display a cannot read DVD error message. When placing the same DVD in my older player, it had no issues reading and playing the DVD. I then chocked it up to a bad unit and had it replaced with a new unit. Out of box the replacement unit, did not exhibit any reading issues with the same DVD the first unit encountered, so I figured the first must have been a bad unit. However, a week later when playing my favorate Blu-ray DVD, the unit started pausing and creating major artifacts on my OLED at specific time frames in the movie. Eventually the unit would skip forward and would resume playing the movie like nothing happened. This would occur a couple of times during the movie, negatively impacting the entire viewing experience. Once again, I played back the same Blu-ray DVD on my older player and the unit had no issues playing the movie at those specific time frames in the movie. After experiencing these issues back to back on the two new DP9000P1K players with in a 2 week span, I decided to return the unit. Both Blu-ray DVDs were in mint condition and the USB drive was placed in the USB port in the rear of the player. Both Blu-ray DVDs were read at some point in time by the unit, so I'm assuming these DVD's were compatible. When it works folks, it does produce very stunning quality picture and sound. I'm hopefully Panasonic will get it figured out.

This is a very superior, DVD and Blu-Ray player. It is SOTA in DVD upsampling, often mimicking 1K quality. Blu-Ray discs are phenomenal when well mastered. It does not play computer files so it must be in a disc video format. It permits 2 custom and one standard setup with a multitude of refinements. The primary adjustment is for Sharpness (Hi, low, medium which is tricky as there is a Chroma and Edge adjustment not labeled as medium. A.I. states that my adjustment refinements for my Sony Bravia TV is comparable to a projectionist. I adjust for color in setup 1 and black and white in Setup 2, then for technicolor, animation (also adjust upper setting from cinema to animation-very important), black & white from 1900 to 1950s, film-noir (-1 in chroma, b&w are not affected by chroma just color) and a few other whether they are blu-ray or DVD. Then there are SDR versus HDR adjustments. So, I wouldn't rate this is as a plug and play unit for maximum enjoyment. Standard could be good enough. Adjust your TV to maximize the fabulous power of this player. Also has a multitude of output choices, including audio.

Works well, is quiet, was easy to set-up, and sends excellent images to my Epson Projector. \r\n \r\n \r\nToo bad it doesn't play SACDs.
