Few months ago become an owner of this great amplifier. It looks and sounds great. Had F76 issue with dimming, tried to fix it with new firmware ver 1.01 downloaded from official Technics support site, but did nothing. Nothing changed. After that I contacted local shop where I buy it. They contacted official Technics service. Service told him to send amplifier to Technics representative (not Technics service!). They updated something else (not firmware) and now it works flowless. Hope this info can help others with same issue...

Amazing analog amp. I didn't want bluetooth or digital inputs. I have a Cambridge Network Player for all that. Love the meters. Classic look with modern build. My friends dad had a Technics amp growing up and I always wanted one of my own. Sounded great out of the box but after running through the automatic speaker leveling setup it took the sound to an even greater level. Really couldn't be happier.

Used dimmer function on meters. F76 error code resulted. Shut off loop persisted. Could fool it by turning amp on and quickly holding down dimmer function on the remote until it wasn't dimmed at all, then it played. Shouldn't have to do that. Shouldn't have to be without a dimming function. Returned to Crutchfield no problem other than a pain to disconnect and send off in mail. Reset up another one that was back ordered..In system now.. working, no shut offs, no error codes.. probably because I haven't used the dimmer function. Technics should do a recall. Sad, they should have caught this problem before releasing this unit. Good luck future buyers.

This AMP is my happy place, and it replaced a long-loved tube amp. I did not think I could love a solid-state AMP this much, but I do. Not had any shutting-off problems, feel sorry for those that did have a working version and wish you had gotten one. But this AMP changed my mind on Solid state, I love the detail.

I love this amp :) Sounds amazing connected to my JBL L82 speakers. Plays well with my vintage Technics 1200mk2 turntable.So good!

Stunning sound. Unbeatable for the price.

Looks and sounds awesome. Everything works as it should. Has bass, treble and mid range controls that work great. The only downside in this unit is it doesn't have enough bass to drive the 15 in woofers on my klipsch Cornwall IV to the level of my old gear. The bass is strong and on some music will drive the Cornwallis bass pretty good just not to the level I'm used to.

Technics has taken "D" class amplifiers and has exploded all the negativity about them, With today's technology, Class D amps are efficient, they run cooler and are silent.\nThe SU-G700 has 140 watts at 4 ohms and provides plenty of punch to the SVS Ultra Bookshelfs connected to it. The features of this unit are in keeping with any pure 2-channel audiophile kit, but the Technics engineers did things that are superlative. Case in point: the (full-size) headphone jack has a separate Class "AA" amp that automatically adjusts impedance for great headphone output. It also has bass, treble and mid equalization, a ergonomic remote and of course the wonderful VU meters (with adjustable dimming).\nAt $2,500.00, there are more powerful choices, but the technology, engineering, quality and sound of this kit is in class by itself.\nUnderstated, elegant and a great value for the money. Oh, and did I mention those VU Meters? A+ +.

Loved the sound -- airy and clear. Unfortunately, it kept shutting off randomly (the first shutoff came after I dimmed the display through the remote). It also had a loose/broken volume knob. I got a replacement, and it, too suffered from the same shutoff problems. It had plenty of airspace around it, and the volume was kept low. After talking with tech support, I swapped speakers, speaker cables, and interconnects and still I could keep it powered up and playing music no longer than an hour. The remote also became inoperable. I sent it back for a refund. This is all very disappointing -- I spent a great deal of time choosing it as my next amp. Crutchfield was helpful, but to this day my queries to Technics have gone unacknowledged.

The technics SU-g700 is a true stereo amplifier with a touch of vintage. It is a beautiful amp with an amazing sound. If you are looking for details and a wide dynamic range in sound, this is the perfect amp to buy. The sound might be too digital for some since it is a Class D amp but there's no doubt that technics did a beautiful by creating a such masterpiece. Please do not expect this stereo amp to sound like a Marantz. Marantz's sound is kind of warm, smooth. The technical sound is very straightforward , very neutral with no noise .\nIf you are building a stereo system with this amp , you may consider an external dac or a network cd player since there is no Bluetooth or wifi build in .

This amplifier is truly astounding. The sound stage is very rich, silky, and detailed. I exclusively listed to vinyl records and I feel excited to listen to music again! This amplifier is a great match for my speakers (KEF LS50 Meta) and has incredible drive and power. I have auditioned the Cambridge Audio CXA81 as well as the Arcam SA30 and Marantz Model 30 and this amplifier is my favorite of them all. It's an eye-pleaser. Nice design aesthetics. It's analytical to listen to, however I could hear what I can only explain as distortion or digital artifacts in the higher frequencies through my speakers, which I assume is a result of how it processes sound (converts incoming analog signal into digital and then to analog going out). Promptly returned with care and in as close as a condition that I received it in. I would still recommend this item to those who seek an analytical listening experience, I believe it could be a fit for many speakers out there, but just not my Klipsch Fortes. Read More
