. . . absolutely hated the build process. Was meant to be an easy assembly, and to a degree it was, but the pieces didn't fit together as well as hoped. The gaps aren't visible once assembled, so it wasn't a deal breaker.\n\nThe box arrived in pretty good shape and there was no real damage to any of the pieces. Maybe a slight, tiny scrape on one or two back edges. Nice heavy duty quality of wood and the finish is very nice. But installing the sides was quite infuriating. Only one bolt to hold the side up - would it have killed them to engineer it with 2 bolts so there was no chance the sides could fall over when moving to the next step? That was a very insecure feeling - hoping that the one bolt wouldn't strip out as it was all that held each side up.\n\nThe supplied Allen-type wrench was tiny and cheap and a pain to use when tightening the bolts. Only one person was needed to assemble the unit but two would've made it easier. \n\nThe unit when built had a smaller footprint than the dimensions suggest. Fits well in a small corner. The center interior space was perfect for most larger home theatre a/v receivers. And the adjustable shelf allows for plenty of "air-flow" to prevent equipment overheating. Plus, the shelf placement provided room for a larger type cable box and a good size center channel speaker above the receiver. The side shelf areas weren't quite as functional for my intended usage - two smaller bookshelf front firing speakers (they hang off the shelf a little) but still it works for me and looks good as far as I'm concerned.\n\nWe had to take the doors off, though. Although the remote functioned through the glass doors, I didn't want the enclosed receiver to overheat and I didn't want to look at the doors open, every time I used the system. Looks fine without doors, to me.\n\nAs for flat screen, large monitor placement: although only a 46" unit, my 56 inch Plasma looks awesome on it. I've seen reviews on other sites stating the unit only accommodates smaller screens, but my personal taste runs to having the screen overhang the the sides. Not a fan of the "small screen on a large entertainment center" look. I want to see the TV more then the furniture holding it up!\n\nThat said, my wife absolutely LOVES the way the built unit looks, and I have to admit that I do, too. But it still irritates me, knowing how it was built and the gaps that I KNOW are there (though hidden from sight). And we have received many compliments from friends who have seen it here.\n\nConclusion: A higher quality "put it together yourself" piece of furniture with the look of much more expensive "furniture store" furniture. It accommodates higher end home theatre equipment and is quite versatile in terms of being a corner unit that can fit in smaller spaces and still look quite nice, while accommodating higher end home theatre set ups.
