I replaced the "cigarette lighter" in my truck's dash with this unit, since the only thing I used it for was a dual USB charger. Haven't hooked it up yet but it looks good. It will keep my iPad and iPhone charged while I am out on the water. The iPad is used for navigation so it is essential that it be on a charger.

Excellent choice for 12 Volt DC outlet. Mounts solidly with a securing nut behind the panel and a cover plate to make a neat installation.\n\nThe diameter is reported as 1 1/8 inches, I used a 28mm hole saw and the was able to "screw-in" the body of the socket for a nice tight fit in thin plywood.\n\nIt has spade lugs for connections so it's easy to connect/disconnect with crimp on terminals.\n\nThe cover seems to seal well, so I would call it water resistant. I would buy this again and again.

We have purchased this product in the past and installed it on our Klamath fishing boat. It has stood the test of time and works as it should. Its well designed, uses good materials, the result is a good product that is a good value.
It costs more, I could have paid less, but its durability leads to good value.
