There is no other product like this that I know of. Blue Sea products are good quality and are a little of an industry standard for marine wiring. This is a robust piece that allows circuit protection right at the battery terminal connection. Every boat should have something similar to this to protect the DC wiring distribution, even small boats, especially since it’s so easy to install. I only have a couple of gripes. First, I think they could have done a better job at insulating the conducting surfaces to provide better short circuit protection. It comes with a cap at the terminal studs but that still leaves some exposed conductive surfaces at the sides. It’s not bad, I just think it could be further improved. The fuses for these are not too expensive. Secondly, the terminal studs are fairly long, so it is going to take up some room above the battery. This could be somewhat challenging where a taller battery is installed in a space that doesn’t have much headroom.\nBut, overall, I think it’s a great, well-built, innovative product.
