NOT sealed for allergens, not user friendly

I have owned Kenmore canister vacs for 40 years. I only opted for this model this time around because it is supposed to be sealed for allergens. It is not sealed, the gasket was misshaped and leaked air, I had to reform it with a heat gun to make it lie flat. I spoke to customer service and I did not opt for warranty replacement because I was told to destroy a perfectly good vacuum by cutting the cord and throwing it away, then send proof of this with photo and I would receive a replacement in 30 days. Not an environmentally friendly option. Options I hate: 1) hepa filter is not inside a sealed compartment, it has a snap on lid so it falls off when in use. Telecoping wand ends in a huge piece of plastic which is not user friendly for using in small spaces without an attachement and does not retrofit to any prior Kenmore attachments, 3) attachments require 2 handed use to remove from the wand because pushing a button is required for removal, 4) the floor brush attachment has a new swivel head which rocks back and forth as you push and pull on anything with friction making it useless to create a sealed suction on the floor, 4) the floor brush attachment is not as wide as it used to be and appears to be much less effection on one pass than the old style, 4) the bag compartment does not completely seal even with the extra gasket that is built into this model, more rubber gasket had to be applied in an attempt to seal the compartment from blowing dust into the room (you can smell it, like you do when a vac bag is full), 5) the push buttons for cord rewind and floor brush are not sealed and leak bag compartment air ( had to seal them off with duct tape). The whole point of upgrading to this more expensive model was for health reasons. This thing is huge, clunky and I miss my old Kenmore., hardly fits in the closet now. Why is it so huge? Things I did like: longer wand, longer cord, better thumb switch for powering on and off. If you are paying extra for health reasons, don't opt for this Kenmore model...look elsewhere. Paying extra for one gasket which doesn't even do the job is not worth it. You might as well pay more for a better brand. Kenmore you let me down this time. Sometimes I think the people who design vacuums have never had to use a vacuum on a daily basis.

The vacuum is lightweight but has powerful suction which is it's best feature. I rated this a 4 for two reasons.\n1. The vacuum bags do not fit the compact compartment. It appears Kenmore is trying to save money by manufacturing one size bag for all it's vacuums and it just doesn't work. \nThe bag is way too large for the compartment and has to be folded, thus taking up more already limited space in the compartment. Shame on you Kenmore. Not only is this a waste of materials on your end, but you could actually save money [less materials used] by manufacturing a smaller bag to fit all your smaller canister vacuums. \n2] The larger floor brush is, well, cheaply made. \n\n** My recommendation to all who buy newer model Kenmore vacuums is to retain your old accessories. They are much better quality.

Highly recommended for a household w cats dogs. This vacuum exceeded all expectations. The amount of suction on my older carpets was beyond impressive. I also love that all attachments are contained in the canister. It does come w a specific hands free changing hardwood floor attachment but I never had to change the carpetfloor combo attachment from carpets to linoleum to hardwood floors. The suctionability was perfect. Only had to simply move the switch on handle accordingly vacuum away. I also love its a bagged system. No messy dusty emptying of canister as happens w a bag free system. Having disabilities, for me personally its not heavy or bulky as some models can be. Very easy to move around. In fact on carpets it has a self propelling forward motion. What a very pleasant surprise. \n\nI honestly cant say enough positive attributes for this vacuum. And the blue color is sleek as well.

This is now my 2nd Kenmore in 20+ years. I hope this new one will last as long. My first still works decent after a few repairs in the past 2 years. Today is my first time using this canister 600 model. Here is my review after cleaning my entire home. Just bought the KENMORE pet friendly pop-n-go canister vacuum. We have Miele C1 with the electric power head but to buy a new one is just too expensive. So far the KENMORE seems ok. Its a huge selling point that this vacuum is pretty lite compared to my Kirby making vacuuming stairs painless! I love that every tool is on board and secure & switching from hardwood to carpet is literally the flick of a button. It is powerful and cleans well. I do like that you can turn it off and on from the handle. Comparing it to my old Kenmore, I would have to say I liked the other one better. This is bigger and heavier. The hose is heavier and more bulky and stiff. It's a bit difficult to use, especially in small areas. The cord is very curled when pulled out but I assume that will straighten more as time goes on. It's a good vacuum. I just wish it was slightly smaller and lighter.

My mom always had one of these to clean with and nothing sucks better than this. I don't care what anyone says this thing will suck a golf ball though a straw. The carpet head will pull off the drapes if you mess up and get to close. The only thing I suggest is buy an old school floor head cause the new one that they have integrated blocks half the air flow with the screw placement. Do yur self a favor and buy the older version it's like 12 bucks. I've had my old suction head since 1999 when my mom gave me her old one. It just broke a year ago and I had to buy a new one and only willing to buy this after going through a few duds that were other brands. If yu change the bag and fluff out the filters properly this vacuum will last ten or more years.

Overall, this is a very good vacuum. However, the truth is that after using a Dyson cordless vacuum for many years, a canister vacuum is cumbersome and much more work, especially in a two-story home. Dragging the canister around, dealing with the cord, and the easily twisted up hose are all new annoyances that will take some getting used to.\nI don't regret my purchase but these issues are worth keeping in mind.

This vacuum is comes closest to my 17-year-old Kenmore which finally died. The suction is great, and it is adjustable dependent on the height of the carpets. It also has the "Pet " power attachment which has a small rotating brush. I have always used the one on my old machine to vacuum upholstered chairs and couches. I would have rated it 5 stars if it were a little lighter in weight. The price also fits my budget.

I love this vacuum cleaner. I've always bought Kenmore canister vacuum cleaners online from Sears but this time I thought I would check and see if Wal-Mart online sold them and sure enough, I found one. I love everything about it, especially the fact that the power button is on the handle instead of being on the canister itself like all the others I've ever bought. And another thing I love about it is the check bag indicator which lets you know when it's time to put in a new bag. It's also a really pretty blue. There is nothing I do not like about this vacuum. I highly recommend it to anyone who is considering buying a canister vacuum. It is really awesome. Love, Love, Love! ❤️❤️❤️

After a lot of research, this seemed to be the best bagged canister vacuum for allergies for the price. It can be cumbersome to carry around at its weight and the cord doesn't always retract easily, but I love the fact that it can self-contain all accessories and that the bag is so easy to dispose of. I'll never go back to bagless with allergies again!

been searching for affordable canister vacuum for months snd months. i am very happy i went with this one. after returning the new shark vacuums twice. they supposed to have most powerful suction and the double rollers should have been more efficient picking up everything from the carpets. but i ordered some and none worked as they were supposed to. very pleased with this vacuum. i ALWAYS try avoiding uprights cause the canister vacuums i can so easily get under furniture and in many places that you just can even get close to with an upright vacuum unless it detaches and you cab still run the head with the rollers. but this Kenmore beats the vertex and stratos i tried.

My wife is generally in charge of picking out a vacuum cleaner, but I picked out this one and she says 'IT'S THE BEST VACUUM WE'VE EVER OWNED! \r\nSo, not only is it a very efficient device, it's a load off my mind. \r\nIt's easy to manipulate, pulls with little effort and goes from rug to bare floor with no loss of efficiency. And unlike a lot of other vacuums, when it's on bare floor it picks up everything, as opposed to flinging a lot of the material out the back thereby requiring successive passes. Goes beneath very low furniture and stores all the accessories on board. And it's terrific on pet hair. Couldn't be happier!

I have a Siberian husky who blows her coat multiple times a year. Her hair has burned up at least five vacuum cleaners. With the double motor that the 600 series has it is so powerful in picking up her hair and not getting clogged. Beating out all of the name brand Vacuums on the market.

This vacuum works great especially on carpets and is powerful. I have an area rug that never looked cleaner after using this vacuum on it. Since then we’ve removed all the carpet and this vacuum being so heavy (really!), we didn’t keep and switched to a much lighter canister vacuum.

I am an older person with significant arthritis in my hands. This wonderful vacuum was just too much for me. Too large, heavy and awkward. A strong younger person would handle it fine. But, alas I am in the process of returning it as I realize I will not be able to use it regularly.

Always preferred a canister vacuum, particularly a Kenmore to the other vacuums. Had one for years and years before the power head finally failed. It couldn't be fixed since it was so old [took it in after being delegated to the back closet for a few extra years]. Have an upright Shark and it is only good for large open areas like the living room, while I need one to get in nooks and crannies full of dust bunnies.\nIt has most of the needed attachments [can use the ones from the old vacuum] and the suction once again tries to eat my carpet. Wouldn't trade it for a cordless; just not enough power in those.

Works good, however the canister part is a bit awkward in size and the doors they have on it open a lot with barely any effort - when I dont want them open. There is a suction lever that also slides too often so if not careful and dont notice you end up vacumming with low suction.

My 25 year old Kenmore canister died so I got this as a replacement. It's powerful and I like it but I'm not a fan of the plastic connections between the hose and the attachments. We'll see how well they last. If the connections were as sturdy as the old one I'd give 5 stars.

When our old Kenmore canister vacuum broke, we tried an upright for the 1st time. Big mistake! Even if someone else did the vacuuming, my dust allergies acting up terribly. I went back to what allergy experts recommend: a vacuum that has HEPA filter bags. Since Kenmore vacs are very highly rated by Consumer Reports, I chose this one after researching several. It's so much lighter and smaller than my old Kenmore! I was able to buy HEPA filter bags for it online. This Pet Friendly Pop-N-Go cleans the floors \u0026 carpets, and is quieter than my old Kenmore canister vac. I'm glad I purchased it!

We have been looking for a new vacuum, as we have been less than satisfied with the ones that we have had, including a Dyson. And we heard from friends that Kenmore had good ones. This one is better than we expected. It is built extremely well! And we love the design. Especially that all the attachments fit into the unit. Also, the online ordering process was great! We go emails on the progress of the order, and tracking information when it was shipped. We got the unit within 5 days from ordering, (which included a weekend). We would definitely recommend to friends.

Over the years, I have ordered this vacuum, when the old one wore out. I especially appreciate the PetMate, as I have a dog and a cat who shed. It does a good job of clearing my floors, both rugs, wood flooring, and vinyl tiles in the kitchen.

It met all my expectations. I owned several of these vacuums since 1982. My first one was my grandmothers. It lasted for many years . My second one died weeks ago. This is my 3rd. And I am impressed. I read a few of customer reviews. Myself finds it easy to use. It has a little weight to it but I handle it well.the hose pivots when you pull it to vacuum. It's easy to change to the carpet vacuum.its powerful and versatile. No more upright vacuums. Canister is always my choice. My daughter loves it. She even has a Dyson. I choose my Kenmore over Dyson any day

I like everything about it except pulling the canister behind it. Maybe it's just because I have always used upright vacuums so the separate canister seems awkward to me. Overall, I am very satisfied with the actual performance.
