The whole process from start to finish was very user friendly; you just connect it to the computer & go to the website listed in the user guide to download & install the drivers & utility package. From opening the box to actually using the scanner was about 5 minutes, the longest part was installing the software but that's just a waiting game. In the box was a cleaning sheet & calibration sheet which will be so useful in the future once I put more miles on it.\r\n I love how many options you have for what to do with a scan once it's complete, it can be saved to your computer like anything else or you can attach it to an email, print, save to places like Word, or send it to Dropbox & other locations. Navigating through the settings did take some getting used to as it would with any new device but once I took a few minutes to explore what everything did, I was scanning work documents, photos & miscellaneous notes in no time. You can change the resolution anywhere from 75 to 1200 dpi. The higher the resolution, the faster it took to load after scanning something in but surprisingly no matter what resolution, it seemed to scan equally fast. My favorite part about the scanner is not having to deal with the hassle of cropping an image after you scan it, if you scan something like a business card, it crops it automatically! I know that's been a for a while now but the quality is better than it used to be, it's more accurate. Scanners have come a longer way since they first came out, this one is very compact & sleek & is so lightweight an 8 ounce bottle of water is probably heavier. pros: I flipping LOVE this thing. I wanted to purge paper, but keep the info digitally. This is a BEAST. I used it for 3 days straight. Scanned over 1500 pages. It does it at a good pace. And it just kept on trucking. * I have only really done documents and a few pencil drawings.\n\nIt can get dirty, i am in a dusty place, but its easy to clean. Just verify scans as you go and make sure you clean (no streaks) and then calibrated the machine (else it might be off brightness wise) with the provided cleaning page and calibration page as needed.\n\nIF you have gunky stuck and its still making streaks after a quick clean ( I scanned a sticky note lol) I found you can lightly spray alcohol onto the cleaning cloth and send it through the cleaning option in the menu, let it dry for a min and then calibrate. When its real bad i may have to clean it 2-3 times, but it only takes a min.\n\nThe software lets you continuously feed in a bunch of pages and then reorganize and crop before you save all the pages you just scanned into ONE pdf file, which is great. You can also rescan and add pages if one messed up before the final save. also you can just save as jpg which creates individual files all at once (for example i scanned two drawings one after another, but when i saved it was two files). \n\nCONs. 1. i wish it was wider!!!! Some of my bills looked 8x10 but i guess they are a few millimeters wider so i had to cut pages. 2. The page grabbers are only on the side and i had some torn page corners so that made it challenging (I taped to another paper). 3. A carrying case to protect and hold cleaning supplies would be nice, the box holds it OK but not as tight as I would prefer for travel.

I've been using a flatbed scanner for documents but it was large, clumsy, and does not work with an iMac.\n\nI bought this since the manual made it clear that it would work with my current iMac running Sequoia 15.xx. I bought it and plugged it in to charge the internal battery (the instructions say to NOT download the software until the battery is fully charged). The download from the Epson site went well and a single file was rejected during the download.\n\nThe scanning has been quick and easy, and it takes up so little space that I simply plop the scanner on top of our printer and run it there. I've used it three times for a total of only 15 documents so far (hey, it's tax season) and it has worked very well each time.\n\nAbout the only negative comments I'd make are that the user manual included with the scanner is just about useless. I went online to Epson and found a full owners manual; this should be included with the scanner. The other issue was that I was not aware that the scanner's operating software had to be downloaded from the Epson site and was NOT included with the scanner itself. All in all, it is a very versatile scanner that has far more capabilities than I will probably ever use. Simple and easy to use, and the software is also simple to use and versatile in it's options for different file types.

The Epson Workforce ES-50 Scanner is so cool and convenient. I honesty can't believe how small and lightweight it is. I also love that I can wirelessly scan all my important documents very quickly and efficiently. The scanner comes with a USB cord that makes it easy to charge up. Once the scanner is charged fully it's ready to go. I downloaded the software instructed in the easy to read instructions and began scanning my documents effortlessly.\r\n\r\nWhat I really like about the scanner is that you can keep feeding it multiple documents and it will keep taking them and scanning them. I've saved a lot of time and space with this scanner. I have an IOS device so I downloaded the Epson DocumentScan app on my phone and scanned documents from there as well. Usually it takes a minute for a scanner to scan multiple documents, but this Epson scanner is super quick, it takes the documents and scans them in a matter of seconds. Concerning the software, I was very pleased with how easy it was to download and use. Now I have several important documents scanned and saved into my computer and it was all very effortless and easily done with the Epson WorkForce ES-50 scanner. I really liked how this epson workforce ES-50 works, it is an excellent document scanner, lightweight, portable, fast and very effective. It doesn't take a big scaner to work and do the job well like this scaner that is small but I like it because it can be stored anywhere !! The configuration of the scanner is very easy, you just have to connect the scanner to the computer with the USB cable, download the software, and connect to the internet or if it is used on the cell phone, you just download the application and you have to be both connected to the same wireless network and go!\r\n I really liked this scanner is super practical, excellent quality, durable and can be taken anywhere and can even be used at home and at work, it is a very good size that can even fit in my bag! it's very fast!! In addition when you scan an image or a document you can see and save it on your hard drive or in the Dropbox !! In addition you can improve the color, the brightness and contrast are also adjusted.I highly recommend this scanner for anyone needing a portable scanner to quickly and reliably scan receipts, photographs or other documents. I like it because I can do all my work very fast and it helps me save time!

This Epson WorkForce ES-50 Portable Scanner is a game changer. I easily unboxed and had this scanner set up within a few minutes. This Epson is amazing compared to my previous scanner which was a hassle. I simply went to the site (link posted below for those that need help with downloading), downloaded the drivers, registered my device, and it was ready for use. All I have to do now is plug in, than put whichever document needed scanning and within a press of a button it's done. It will auto pop up on my laptop that it is scanning. It has many options as shown in my video below with more details. The size is fantastic, it's sleek, and durable feeling. This is truly an amazing little scanner!!! Since this was my first time setting one up, I was a little nervous. The directions were extremely clear and walked me through each step. Did I mention there were only 3 simple steps to follow!!!! Installing the software was quick and I had no problems getting this scanner ready to go. I love the compact size - no more taking up room with a large printer/scanner combo that you don't need.\r\n\r\nInsert first test page.............success!!!!! I work from home a lot of the time and having this is a game changer for me. Scanning is quick and results in a clear image. The scanner can take a variety of paper sizes, including receipts. This is my second one because the first was broken brand new out of the box. It feels cheaply made despite the high price tag. The auto paper feeder is finicky and will roll paper sideways if you don't watch and help it. When it works, it works great though. Very light weight and mobile.

I am using this on an M1 MacBook Air running OS X 15.2. Since it is USB A I use an adapter. This arrangement works fine. It will not be automatically detected in settings so you have to download the software and drivers from the Epson website. Software installation was straightforward and the Epson SmartScan software has a number of useful functions. From downloading software and drivers to using the device took just a couple of minutes. It does everything you would expect from a document scanner. I haven't had a chance to use it on Windows 11, but I expect it is just as simple. I recommend this device.

Bought it just for scanning in business stuff, mostly gas receipts. I done 280 gas receipts in about 20 minutes, that would of taken me a few annoying hours with my printer/scanner combo (with the lid you have to close after linning the receipt up). I love it so far for that. Only downfall is the price of the add ons, seems a little crazy to me to pay another $100 for an add on, yes it would be a convenient add on, but ill just stick to saving the scans and typing in the date, place, and amount.

I had a Neat scanner that is no longer compatible with my Macbook Pro. Initially, I was skeptical about the quality of the scanner and after first use, my skepticism went away. The scanner seamlessly works with my Macbook Pro. The scanning quality is quick and provides small pdf file sizes. For two sided documents, just flip the document over and the software allows you combine the scans into one document. It’s small enough to put it in your backpack for travel.

Needed this scanner in a pinch. It's so small and capable, it's likely going to wind up being our go-to. Need a plug-in, but do not need to sign up for other services for it to function. We ordered cables because we didn't notice cable is already in the box. For super on-the-fly scanning, B&W, we are completely satisfied with this unit. Easy to plug in, understand, and operate. Easily scans to desktop, or right into email, and other formats.

Does what it should and very easily at that. It will pull the paper in a little bit to secure it then you can hit the scan button and it does its job. the software is super convenient and east to use. fast installation of the software as well. many export options in the software like google drive and other email options, saving to file, etc.. super small and well build feeling.

I scanned between 20,000 and 25,000 documents with that one. I purchased the 2nd one because I was concerned I might have problems with it while on the road. I do investigations for the government and use this new one only g\\for On-The-Road use. \r\n\r\nMy at the home scanner is an ES-400 . I've had it for several years and have never had a problem with it.

I bought this scanner about a month ago and once I downloaded the drivers and utilities from the Eason website it worked perfectly. Unfortunately, nowhere in the packaging does it tell you that you have to download the drivers and utilities to make it work, so if not tech savvy you will think it doesn't work or be calling their help line.

I like how compact and space saving the scanner is. When I am done using it, I unplug the cord from my computer and place the scanner in a desk drawer. \n\nI have been using this scanner to scan in homeschool documents that I send to a home study school for grading. All the documents that I scan are written in pencil. The scanner will pick up some pencil marks, but not all making it frustrating. Sometimes I have to rescan, but it ends up looking worse than before.
