It is not the GE fridge I ordered (store error) so … but, I like the wider size better than Kenmore we had and the handle design is much easier to clean. It is noisier than our Kenmore was and has far less space on icemaker side (fewer shelves & they slant in on ends making even smaller). I had ordered model without in-door icemaker so this is disappointment. This model also has far fewer shelving options. And I removed the one with sliding feature - it just felt flimsy in middle. But, I love how clear everything is inside! I love the drawer temp adjustments. It cooled quickly. Now, if I could figure out how to reduce temp (icon only seems to take it up). It’s pretty and I’m happy with it. Hoping GE is more reliable than our Kenmore was.

My wife likes the refrigerator - big plus - and so do I. Some suggestions though. First the LED lighting could be brighter or more of it for refrigerator section. Second, the bottom freezer top tray "glide" design is not the best option in my humble opinion. Continuous gliding of the fixed front top try glides will add unnecessary wear to the glides and track they glide in. Rolling wheels would be an extremely customer focused improved design. It's very unlikely that any frost accumulation or other moisture would develop in a wheel axle that would prevent a wheel from rolling. And there would be no worn plastic particles on the food packaging or ice in the ice storage bay in the freezer! I think GE can come up with an improved design.

My new GE refrigerator, Model: GFE26JEMTFDS in Black Slate was delivered yesterday and it is so beautiful and everything is working great. It is so big and roomy. It replaced a 2003 Kenmore refrigerator that was starting to die and I needed a new one. I love this color and never had an appliance look so great. In the pictures, it looks gray, but it is black, not a glossy black but a matte black. Fingerprints disappear. Cooling is excellent in the fridge and freezer. Water tastes great, ice is working already and stored out of the way. I took out one half shelf because I needed to put larger things under it. After I get used to it, I will figure out how to utilize the space better and put it back in. There are so many possibilities. Meat, vegetable and fruit drawers are huge but you can clearly see everything. I like the french doors versus side by side doors because I can store a pizza or longer items on the continuous shelf. I was concerned about the bottom freezer since I have spine issues, but it is great and easy to access. Now I have to fill it up with lots of food!!

It is very similar to my 2009 Samsung French Door fridge, but I don't like it quite as much. Although it is about 2 cuft larger, it doesn't hold as much.\npros- Water dispenser is inside the fridge wall, so it doesn't take up a lot of space\nIt makes ice fairly quickly\nThe interior trays don't feel as flimsy as some in some other brands we considered\n\ncons-Didn't come with an ice scoop\nWeird gaps in the freezer=lost space\nThe water doesn't get very cold and you have to use 2 hands to get it\nLouder than previous\nThe tray heights are off by about 1/4 in, so tall items like milk don't quite fit under\nIt is harder to close and open the doors

Love our new fridge! We had an old GE fridge that Love our new fridge! We had an old GE fridge that desperately needed replacing, and I couldn't be happier with this one! It has a lot of storage space, and even though the freezer section might look small at first, it fits a lot. I also didn't want to have the ice dispenser on the door to save space inside, and the ice tray in the freezer works just fine.\n\nOverall, it looks great, offers plenty of storage, and the shelves can be moved to different levels to suit your storage needs.desperately needed a replacement, and I couldn't be happier with this one! This refrigerator replaced a 13 year old GE Profile that decided to not cool any more. The new Ge fit the hole precisely which was critical. The only thing that we miss on the new one was the 4" tray that ran the length and was attached to the bottom freezer door. We used it to store small items that we use frequently. Now we have to search for them. We miss that on the new one. We love the fingerprint resistance . Much better. The interior lighting is improved. The deeper door shelves on the door are very nice. If it lasts 13 more years there will be no complaints...other than the non existent freezer door tray

This is a great fridge with one MAJOR FLAW. The water dispenser requires two hands. Instead of pressing your glass against an activation button, and filling your glass with one hand, you have to hold your glass under a tiny straw dispenser, that leaves little room for thicker edged glasses or pitchers, and then press the button with your other hand. This is the dumbest idea ever, obviously designed by someone who does not use the water feature regularly. Otherwise a great product. Lots of room, good lighting, smudge-proof door. But the water feature is a fail!

Makes ice and water well, although the water dispenser drips a drop or two after use. It's big, but the shelving configuration is a little awkward for larger products like bottles and milk jugs. Produce stays really well in the fridge. We found some frost in the freezer already when it had a lot of stuff in it. We moved some to another freezer and it seems happier. Overall, we like the fridge and it's miles above the Samsung that came with the house.

Capacity: even though it states to have a larger qu ft volume than my old refrigerator, it seems to hold less food containers and bottles. Maybe because of the configuration that gives me less options in shelf positioning (just 3 pre-set positions instead of customizable positions every 2 inches or so). It seems that the designers didn't measure the standard height of juice and milk cartons or kefir bottles, and just put shelf heights randomly at 5" intervals. There's no room to put a gallon of milk in, i had to switch to 1/2 gallon cartons that fit in the door. BUT to put them in the door I have to put the door shelves in the single available spot, so the shelves directly below are INACCESSIBLE and useless. Check the product photos used by GE to show the inside of the refrigerator and ask yourself if the bottom shelves in the doors can be used? NO, the ad products were put in before assembling the shelves directly above them. The freezer seems to be good at first, but also has hidden issues. The top shelf of the freezer is getting pulled out when you open the freezer door, and it's hard to push it back in to access the bottom. I checked and rechecked the installation instructions, it sits in place, but it's getting pulled out every time I open the freezer with a loud clanking noise. The magnet in the freezer door kicks in when you close it, but in a couple of seconds it turns off, and even a toddler can accidentally open it a crack, and it stays unlocked and gets a lot of frozen condensation inside. Overall, I'm unhappy with my purchase. It is a refrigerator that keeps food cold, but one has to be very inventive and careful to operate it. Did not meet my expectations of a GE appliance :((

So far, we really like it. We haven't hooked up the water yet so can't say anything about the ice maker or water dispenser, but can say it keeps the temperature well and is very quiet. We were not sure about the temperature at first because we had just gotten it and had been opening and closing the door a lot so our milk was warm on the second day, but once we got into the normal use of it, it's been just right - good cold milk! The tech who came to check it said it was best to give it 24 hours before really assessing it and he was right. \n\nOne thing I would mention to any new buyers would be that if you have a whole house filtration system, you'll want to get a bypass plug for your in-fridge water filter (at the top right of the inside of the fridge) because you really don't need it. I was able to one for free by calling GE and they were very happy to send it - you just have to ask.

This a is nice refrigerator plenty of space, my only issue is the shelf spacing. I put the milk on bottom shelf above veggie bins. I know it can go in the door. But The refrigerator door is the hottest part of the fridge. Milk is supposed to be stored in the back and bottom of fridge, the the coldest part. I have dead spae above my milk. I wish I could move the shelf above the milk down a notch. Food preservation and maximum custimization are not taken into consideration. To worried about convenience.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The flow of the water is very slow out of the water spout which is very inconvenient the way it was designed you can barely fit the lip of a cup under spout the space is so small. \nThe ice maker if it is ready to drops ice and you pull the top drawer out to get something of it it will drop the ice into the bottom of freezer which I have no idea how I can get it out from under the drawers. Bad design lever should shut it off when you pull drawer out

Refrigerator is handsome, has good features like a sliding shelf that allows tall objects to be stored in the main part of the fridge, and has a decent amount of space. However, it is a bit noisy (when running), the drawers are a bit flimsy, and the shelves on the left-side door are useless (ridiculously narrow) because of the through-the-door ice maker. I would rather just have through-the-door water and an icemaker in the bottom freezer in order to free up door shelf space and reduce complexity.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We must’ve read every review listed for this fridge on every site. We absolutely love it. One month in no issues or problems. People say it’s loud but where our kitchen is located we never hear it and even when I’m standing in the kitchen, it’s not loud. The ice is so nice and makes so much quickly half the time I’m bagging it up and using it for when we travel in our coolers. People talk about the door handle being a little crooked, but ours is perfectly straight. Definitely love the non-smudge non-fingerprint doors and handles. The one thing I wish it did have was the very bottom drawer is all one long drawer that has a divider in the middle. It’s kind of a pain in the butt to have to open both doors to get into that drawer, but definitely not a dealbreaker. We just put things in there. We don’t use often.

It fit exactly in the space I had. \nOnly thing I find annoying is the freezer shelving. When you pull the door - the bottom bin hooks the top and you need to manually lift the top bin and slide it back out of your way. I'll call support to see why that is. poor design as the Frigidaire did not do that.

Overall the Fridge and Freezer is Great; Wish these were better; guess this comes what we pay.\nMost plastic that used for storage seems a bit lower grade\nWish the lip that dispenses water is at a slight angle from the wall, so you can easily fit a large water container. Post water dispense a large mechanical switch makes sound, At least 2 more lights to support mid-tier would have been beneficial. Ice Maker is fantastic.

I have had this fridge for a week now and though that would not be considered fair to review it this early. I would say so far, it is aesthetic and beautiful. It cools well and was easy to setup. It is working wonderfully so far. The only downside which wouldn't be considered such, but to be fair and try to find one, if anything, would be it is not quite as large in the freezer compartment as my previous fridge. They take up the same space, but with the icemaker in the freezer which helps with adding to be more efficient, it gives more space for the main fridge, but less for freezer space due to ice maker room. Nothing is perfect but this unit is pretty much there. I am happy. The biggest thing I worry about is how long it will last. I am hoping for a minimum of 15 years or so. We'll see.

I have had the refrigerator for 1 week. So far so goo. I wanted a Black to match my other appliances and this item in black was almost 1k more than the black stainless , etc As for the frig itself I do not like the plastic freezer drawers , I had wire ones before that I thought were studier as was the other plastic shelving I wanted the cabinet depth but found the capacity too small.

Good space and lighting inside. I like the ice maker in the door- maximizes space- except it makes for really skinny door shelves on that side. The writing on the panel on the outside for changing water to ice and other features is SUPER DIFFICULT to read because it is so faint. I have to crouch down at just the right angle to see well. My elderly father really struggles to see it.

The delivery crew was awesome. Very friendly and professional. They took the front door off to prevent scratches and replaced it with no issues. The fridge is extremely nice. I love how it looks sleek and clean all the time with the hidden water feature. The ice bin is wonder, definitely prefer that over the door dispenser any day now. Gives me the option to scoop as much ice in little to no time at all. Dispenser are nice and convenient but I enjoy scooping the ice. Ice maker did not come with a scoop though, luckily I had a plastic one that wasn't being used. Will probably look into getting a metal one later down the road. Overall, the fridge is great. Had for a month now with no issues. Spacious inside and sleek and clean looking outside.

Fridge has been great so far. Plenty of space in both the fridge and freezer. Only downfall was the delivery process, ended up taking way longer than expected and delivery was delayed two separate times on the day of. So ended up calling off work 3 different days for this to be delivered. Both the water dispenser and ice maker have been great, no complaints.

This refrigerator while standard depth and has more room inside still only requires 32 inches in width. Love the large freezer department. Would like to shout out to Geovny and Robert from the Lowe’s installation team, they were very professional and installation went very quick. They gave thorough explaination of features and cleaned up all the packaging.

Love the fridge! It’s sleek and amazingly has more room than my old refrigerator which stuck out from my counters. The only thing is that the water dispenser is rather slow. I like the fact that it’s inside the fridge though it is less convenient. And agree with other reviewers that the water comes out at room temperature but ice solves that problem.

So far so good. One complaint, the indoor water dispenser nozzle is rigid and cannot be used for all of my refillable bottles. Some cases I have to fill a cup that pours into my bottle. I'm still trying to figure out a good shelf placement for taller bottles. The tuck shelf is nice, but still doesn't leave a lot of room for taller bottles.

Edited after using for a few days: Roomy. Good lighting. Still wish it displayed actual temperature instead of the set temp. Initially I complained about noise, but that has quieted. I think the compressor had to run for a few days to quiet down. French door center seal seems to work smoother than older model French doors I've seen.

The pieces that cover the handle attachments didn’t hold up very well and many of them cracked before a year of use.\nGood capacity and my kids like the smaller snack drawer at the bottom.

Our new GE GFE26JYMFS French Door Refrigerator has been really great. I like most of the arrangement of shelves and compartment. The cooling of the refrigerator part is good, the water/ice maker is really good for we folks who use a lot of ice daily and the freezer holds all we need to store in it plus there is a lot of room on top to store our smaller cooking appliances. The one thing I would like to change is to have a solid shelf I could put on the right side of the top compartment instead of the sliding shelf which may not be strong enough for some of our items and items hang on the middle portion where the to section join when I have the shelf extended to hold more items.
