[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Dewalt 192 piece mechanics tool set to upgrade from my decades old sockets that were just not grabbing hold of bolt heads any more. My first impression of the Dewalt rachets and sockets, when I opened the case was “This is High Quality!”. The 3 ratchets in the set, 1/2” 3/8” and 1/4”, along with the sockets, were all very well chromed and polished. The smooth clean surfaces will make cleaning much simpler, after I work on my truck, or use it around dirty job sites. When I grab hold of the ratchet handles, they fit comfortably in my hand, and I could grab the tool much better, thanks to the wider width of the handle area. All of the sockets are 6-point which will mean no slippage at all, even when I tighten those partly rounded heads. And the nice thing about this set, is each of the ratchets have their own complete assortment of socket sizes, large number of extensions, and adapters.\r\n\r\nI used the set to removed several stubborn bolts on a job, where my old 16-point sockets would not grab any more. The sockets were sized very accurately to the bolt head, and there was no play once put on the bolt. It went on/off the bolt head quite smoothly. The ratchet mechanism was also very smooth with the large number of teeth build into the ratchet assembly. I also used the set to assemble a new stationary bandsaw, and large garden cart, and having this set made tightening the assorted bolts much easier. Overall, I am very impressed with this set, and would recommend this without any question. This is a Quality tool, build to last, and easy to use and maintain. Two Thumbs Up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dewalt 204 piece mechanics tool set is a fantastic assortment of hand tools. The tools provide a good compromise between quality and value. As always, walking this fine line brings with it a series of pros and cons. \r\n\r\nPros\r\n-The socket wrenches themselves are fantastic quality. They are beefy enough to fit in your hands, and strong enough for most jobs. The 72 tooth design also makes for easier use. \r\n\r\n-The variety of sockets/extensions is phenomenal. A socket for every job. \r\n\r\nCons\r\n-The case leaves a lot to be desired. The single tired design makes it very large. A toolbox design would have been much more convenient. The case also does a poor job of retention. This of course leads to lost parts. \r\n\r\n-The socket size is stamped and not very big. A much larger stamping/engraving would be nice.\r\n\r\n-The knurled section of the sockets are adequately aggressive, however, could be larger. \r\n\r\nOverall, the quality and variety that come with the Dewalt 204 piece mechanics tool set make it a fantastic value. The set provides a high quality set that will last many years at a very reasonable and economical cost.

This set is very well rounded and has everything from universal-joints to all size extensions! This set just has everything, things not always combined in others which made this a big win! The tools are very well built and extremely tough as they held up getting some very old parts loose. The buttons on the ratchets are easy to operate with big or small hands and fingers. The finish is nice and makes for very easy wipe down after use.\r\nThe hard case is much better than I expected! I knew the set was going to be heavy and when I saw the case had four (thats 4) latches to secure it I was very pleased! Overall its a must for any mechanic who appreciates well thought out quality products! \r\nbuy again?, Definitely!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set is the real deal. I am a home owner with a small hobby farm; tractor, UTV, trucks/cars and stuff to fix in the shop and everywhere else. This set has it all.; Torx sockets, Alen sockets and SEA sockets up to 1" and metric up to 24MM. Extensions, knuckles, adapters - EVERYTHING! The ratchets are solid and feel great in your hand. I have owned tools that came on trucks, bought high-end at other stores and there is absolutely no reason to buy them again after owning these. It has everything complete I need. The case is great but what you would expect after pulling and removing sockets and ratchets. They will probably end up in a chest vs. the case they came in. I would not hesitate to pick up this set. Well worth every cent.

Really great set of tools. They feel great in my hand. They are super strong. And just about every tool I'll ever need to work with nuts and bolts anywhere. \r\n\r\nWatch out though - this stinker is HEAVY - 42 pounds. You'd never put this anywhere inside a car. If you're moving around your project, you really can't pull this box around with you. The case is huge when it is open. \r\n\r\nThere is a minor annoyance, one socket always falls out when opening the box. Some sockets are a little harder to remove than others. \r\n\r\nI ended up buying a Dewalt 34 piece 1/4 and 3/8 drive metric and standard socket set to carry around for projects. This 204 piece thing is just too massive and heavy to use on remote jobs.

Overall this set is a fantastic product! Best part about it is there are no filler pieces, ie screw driver bits. The socket wrenches feel great to hold and don't slip, the sockets themselves haven't shown any sign of rust after over a year of usage. The only two points I can say that could improve this set would be 1: upgrade it to 90 teeth over the current 72 teeth, and 2: instead of the current fold open box that houses the tools put them into a 3 drawer strong box with removable drawers organized by drive. \r\nI wouldn't mind seeing a larger set with more wrenches or even ratcheting wrenches included but no screw driver bits...no one likes fillers. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing I noticed when I got it in the mail is that i could barely lift it with one hand! This is HEAVY! Like, really needs wheels heavy. This isn't a bad thing, it just means it has every piece you'd need. This is more meant to stay in a garage or tool shelf. There made of heavy metal, it's not a flimsy product you know you'll break if you drop it on the garage floor. The ratchet system works so well, it's smooth and operates perfectly. You will not be sad by getting this product.

This kit pretty much, has it all. All six point sockets in pretty much any size you'll need for auto use. Ratchets feel bullet proof, and have a competent range of sizes for 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 in SAE and metric. My case seems good, holds everything well, not too loose and not too tight. One thing I would add if I could, is a 4pc screw driver setup, #1 and #2 Phillips and a large and med sized flat. But other than that this is a complete set that could get you out of any pickle you get into on the road or in the shop. Great price point too.

Mechanical wise, I bought two sets, each piece is of very good quality. Lifetime Warranty, knurling, I like the extensions, no filler, direct torque sockets. ¼,⅜,½ plus spark plug sockets. Great Value , gives opportunity to buy a nice full wrench set to your liking separately. They're in the case almost a little too tight, takes some effort to remove but I have figured out an easy way by just pulling up from the top of a socket, no issues , or any issues fixed easily on 800#DeWalt

These ratchets are great in tight spots with 72 teeth and a 5° pivot. These are much better than my other sockets. I love the shape and feel of these ratchets. I've use them for about a week at work now and they look and feel great. This is a very comprehensive set. The cases are designed very well it holds all the sockets in nicely.

Had this set for ALMOST OVER 7 YEARS, and let me just say I'm that impressed with these that I wish they'd expand the mechanics tool set like what Husky has or what Craftsman HAD (1,050 piece set, 500 piece set).... My only con is the Sockets pop outta place everytime I open the box, however as soon as I get my portable mechanic work bench, thats where they'll b stored. All n All these r as close as to quality mechanic tools as you'll get if you don't want to spend the money on Snap On.

The perfect socket set. Everything snaps into its own spot. I would have given this 5 stars however the 1/4" ratchet does not seem to be a quality piece. It does not turn very smooth. I even returned the first one and went through two other kits to see if they had one that ratcheted smoothly. They weren't very smooth either so I kept the smoothest of the three.
