I love first person shooter games. While I in no way belong in the competitive class of players, I do like to think I get along pretty well playing games like Hunt Showdown online and I enjoy Doom Eternal and many other shooters as well. This mouse possesses many qualities that make it excellent for FPS games. It is a palm style mouse, which I approve of as opposed to a claw style mouse for faster and more aggressive movements that help you get your sights on target faster. This is a right-hand oriented mouse and its contours on both the thumb grip region and the mouse buttons themselves feel excellent for maintaining grip during frenetic movements. At first, I thought the ventilated build of this mouth was a little gimmicky, but I am having noticeably less occurrences of needing to dry my palm from sweat during extended gaming sessions. Somehow, in spite of this open build, this mouse still manages to be IP54 rated for moisture resistance; awesome! The matte finish of this mouse, while not the most premium feeling, is better for grip on sweaty, high intensity gaming circumstances. The RGB of this mouse is really awesome out of the box and comes with some really great built-in features I haven’t seen to often on other wireless mice. One is that, out of the box, the RGB upon wake up of the mouse indicates how much battery life you have left. Red (flashing) is 0-5% battery, yellow is 6-10% battery, and green is 11-100% battery. It actually has a color assigned to each of the 5 built-in CPI profiles too! Purple for 400, blue for 800, green for 1200, yellow for 2400, and red for 3200. I actually very much prefer this over other options competitors have used like an annoying pop up on the screen. I prefer 1200 CPI for my FPS shooters, and it is nice to verify by pressing mouse button 4 (the one below the scroll wheel) which one I am on. For further RGB settings, it is all in the SteelSeries GG software for you. Of note, I also like that there are settings to turn the RGB off during mouse movement and it also has great settings for battery conversation if you have your computer on all the time like I do and don’t want to worry about having to constantly charge the mouse due to it waking up and staying awake for too long all the time. Something I really liked here is that a firmware update was ready to go when I first installed the software and the update was able to be connected over the 2.4Ghz dongle connection. Another one my high-end wireless mice insisted that you connect the mouse to the computer via the USB-C cable before it would update the firmware. This made things very effortless and easy for the update on the Aerox 5 wireless. It should be noted that this is utilizing a USB-C 2.4Ghz dongle. I was happily able to plug this directly into the USB-C port on my motherboard. If you don’t have a USB-C port as part of your PC build, an extender cable and adapter are included that will allow you to plug the cable into a traditional USB-A port, attach the adapter, and then plug the dongle into that. Altogether, I feel that this is a premium priced mouse, but most definitely offers premium features. The only knock I think I can give it at this point was the SteelSeries GG software for setting up and update the mouse was initially slow to install and update. Also, the mouse is sometimes slower to wake up then other wireless mice I have tested. Nothing too noticeable for the average user, just something I noticed given how many mice I have had now over the years. If you are in the market for a lightweight, wireless gaming mouse with a wired option. This is likely the mouse for you. If you do not need the lightweight feature, this is likely not the mouse for you. I'll start with the main feature sell of this mouse. It's light weight. SteelSeries has developed a very functional design by deploying negative space cut diamonds around the mouse body. The shape lends itself to stability while being surprisingly lightweight. I was shocked by just how light this mouse actually is. It feels very sturdy with no fears of breaking or "crushing" the mouse under the weight of your hand. The hollow design allows for a unique look and a nice illumination feature. Unfortunately, this is more or less the only reason to get this mouse. Ergonomically, this mouse is "ok" at best. It lays fairly flat and lacks any real comfort. I found my hand fatiguing quickly after only about 20 minutes of use. This mouse also feels extremely cheap. The plastic used is very very cheap. This is likely a decision made to aid in the lightweight feel, however, it's a textured plastic you find on free peripherals such as keyboards and mice that come with pre-built PC. Something no one wants to use, especially for a premium price or peripheral geared towards gaming. The button layout is also annoying. The silver thumb button for example, is hard to reach. With my hand properly on the mouse itself, I have to reach to press the button properly. It needs to come back about 1 or 2 inches to be actually usable. The additional buttons are in an ok position, but I still found my hand having to reach for them, and reposition itself often. The button between the left and right click changes DPI, which I did find nice. The position here is expected, and works as needed. The scroll wheel is ok, and features a click style scroll but has no option for smooth scroll. You get options with wired or wireless. This mouse features Bluetooth, 2.4GHz which require the use of the included dongle, or wired. I appreciate the true wired mode, this is what I chose to use as I find wireless too still have far too much lag, even with as good as wireless has come. I believe a true wired experience is essential when appealing to real gamers. Each mode requires the selection of the slider underneath to select whichever mode you wish to use. Left is bluetooth, center is wired, right is 2.4 wireless via dongle. I found it weird that I had to put the mouse in 2.4 wireless mode in order to update the firmware via the SteelSeris app. Updating firmware wirelessly and not via wired lacks little sense to me. However, the update ran fine without an issue. The app itself supports both macOS and Windows. Unfortunately, the macOS app does NOT support the M1 macs at this time. In a world where Apple is moving all of it's products to a full Apple silicon platform, which has been in process going on it's second year, this seems like a miss and this product should NOT be considered macOS compatible at this point in time. Granted, Macs are not the intended audience here, for folks on dual platforms, this may be a selling point only to be found out it does not work on what Apple device they are now likely running. I found the software UI to be pretty bad too. It handles the basics, and I was able to create profiles for carious situations/games, change colors, change DPI, etc... but the UI is clunky and I feel it could be cleaned up and simplified a whole lot more. If it wasn't for the necessity to allow the mouse to run better, and control it's feature, I would not have it installed. One notable feature however, it alerted me that "Windows settings are making my mouse experience bad" and by clicking the banner, it changed the default Windows mouse setting to an optimal configuration so the app could do it's thing. I found this it be an extremely nice feature. I found tracking to also be ok. The gliders are very, very smooth, though the overall mouse movement felt slightly held back. I adjusted a ton of CPI, acceleration, polling rate, etc. and it just never felt "great". Mouse movement was always just "ok". Aside from the lightweight selling point, I don't see much to get excited for with the Aerox 5 unfortunately. It looks cool, but simply does not perform to the standard I've come to expect from a top tier gaming mouse.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually use a Logitech G502 Hero mouse; this Steel Series Aerox 5 pretty much feels like nothing in your hand compared to my logitech.\r\n It is nice and light weight, programmable RGB lights within the mouse if you are into that, or you can turn it off. 5-buttons right at your thumb for quick and easy macros, all customizable to fit your needs. Not sure if this is a new thing, but there is a “flicker” button for your thumb, not sure how much I like this as if feels a bit unnatural for myself to flick the button up or down for whatever action. It's just not entirely comfortable for me as I rest my thumb on the “Sniper” button, and quickly going from that to flick up or down just doesn't flow too well for me, and I often end up flicking it up. Great idea in concept just the location or more distinguishable button would be better for gaming. Or maybe I just haven't gotten use to it.\r\n Other than that solid mouse, very light weight, quick and responsive. I will say Steel Series GG software is very very nice, but logitech GHUB is nothing to brag about. I will continue to use this mouse to get a better feel for it, but I'm just too in love with my infinity scroll and the ergonomics of my G502.\r\n Update: after 2 weeks of constant use mixed with normal day to day use and gaming, I've come to the conclusion I prefer my logitech while gaming, feels more natural to play buttons are easy to navigate. For normal day to day use the Steel Series Aerox 5 wins in this category, with how light it is using it for extended periods of time no fatigue, I did get use to the flicker button, but sacrificed being able to use the “sniper” button. Resting my hand a bit further back made it easier to use. I would recommend the Aerox 5 for lighter gaming or even the work day, I would not use for FPS or MMORPG gaming.

It has a good size, easy grip and unisex color. I took the mouse with me on a trip and I try it on my laptop. I connected the USB and I was ready to go. My computer recognized it immediately. The cable is very long and braided nylon material. It also, includes an attach Velcro to customize the cord length It has a has color at the base of the mouse and it changes color. It has five buttons that can be configured for gaming. One of them controlling the CPI. The extra buttons are the main finger triggers and the scroll wheel. If you want to customize the mouse, that you should do. You will need to download the steel series engine. I need it to configured the mouse cursor sensibility and the extra buttons. There is only one button that its a little hard to reach for me. It's located at the front left side of the mouse. In general this is a really good gaming mouse. I do like my current PC gaming mouse, but this one it's perfect for traveling and I'm very please with all the features.

I’ve been using the Aerox 5 for about two weeks now, and overall I’m really happy with it. The first thing I noticed was how lightweight and fast it feels — it glides effortlessly, and the sensor is super responsive in both gaming and everyday use. After long sessions, my hand didn’t feel cramped since the shape is comfortable and natural. The button layout has been really useful too. The extra thumb buttons give me quick access to abilities and shortcuts, and customizing them in the SteelSeries software was simple. That said, a couple of the side buttons are a bit of a reach, especially during fast gameplay, but I’ve been getting more used to it. Build quality has held up great so far — the mouse feels sturdy despite its lightweight, and the RGB lighting looks clean without being over the top. I had my share of gaming mice in the past. Most of them had problems that seemed like they should happen after a year or two, so you buy another one. Some had really worn out rubber at the thumb and were starting to loosen, some just lost functionality like the mouse wheel didnt work anymore, some just straight up disconnected from the pc every few minutes. \r\nI havent had a single issue with the aerox 5! The wireless signal is great, its really plug and play. It works really well. there is no loose parts like rubber which will loosen over time and its sooooo light. I really love it, and i game with it every day. This mouse seems like it will be a keeper. I have the feeling once you go steelseries you never go back. Also had this effect with the nova arctis pro. No issue i had with other headsets occured. Steelseries really build things to last you a long time. As soon as i get the chance, i will also upgrade my keyboard to a steelseries one and be fully in this ecosystem.\r\nI can just recommend this mouse!

I recently picked this up during a sale to replace my quite old mouse, and I'm really happy with the product I got and now use on a daily basis.\r\nIt feels great in the hand and especially it's weight was a positive surprise. Visually speaking it hits a perfect balance of eye candy and not being distracting when focused on something else.\r\nSomething I want to emphasize are the 5 buttons on the left side - something I specifically looked out for when I chose this mouse as I play a lot of MMORPG's. With the customizeable bindings you can assign, they are of great use to me. However I do have to add that one button (the top one pressed downwards) is a bit harder to press in the heat of the moment - which is fixed by just not assigning anything important to it but I digress.\r\n\r\nOverall, I would buy this mouse again, especially when using one of the many promotions SteelSeries does or during a sale.

It was time for a new mouse and, also, time to try a wireless mouse. Thought the mouse doesn't have the same soft grip as my previous "Sensei Ten", the ppastic doesn't feel cheap. It's probably the lightest mouse I've had - that's saying something for a wireless mouse. I'm assuming the 180 hours battery life is if you're not using it, though. I've used it intensively for gaming the past week and had to charge it twice (though the first time was soon after removing it out of the packaging - it was at 80%). What is nice it that I can just plug the USB-C out of the dongle and directly into the mouse so it charges while I can keep using it. This means that you can use it wired, via Bluetooth and Via the dongle's wireless connection. Generally I'm liking it lot.

The mouse is light and works smooth on the Steel Series Mouse Pad. (not a bot promise) Its not so light though that you lose control of it or over shoot where you want the pointer to go. It stops on a dime right when you stop moving. All the buttons are responsive and ive had no dead clicks yet after playing 100+ hours with it. The buttons above the thumb rest are far enough away from the top of my thumb where im not hitting them by accident and also not too far forward where im reaching to press them. The only problem that I have with this mouse is that the mouse wheel doesnt have the left and right click on the mouse wheel. Noting to major really I can just map a left and right lean to the buttons above the thumb. Cant wait to spill beer on it and see if it still works.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mouse is pretty perfect. The cord plugs to the front and it's at least 6 feet long so there's no disruption from a cord in the way. It's lightweight, my phone is heavier. The triggers are insanely responsive and fast, there's the solid click sound confirmation and the scroll wheel is just as responsive but not slippery - if that makes sense - you won't accidentally scroll and won't have any lag when you do use it. Setting the cpi is very simple and color coded. There's no track wheel underneath so this thing just glides so effortlessly on any surface.My daughter is the real og gamer here, she uses this one with her Alienware laptop - and she's a lefty, no complaints!

I've been using this mouse for a few weeks now, and wow, it's amazing! It fits my hand perfectly, and it's so light that it just glides across my mouse pad like butter. My aim is sharper than ever before. Plus, it has just the right number of buttons for me to program how I want. The programmable buttons are super comfortable to use, unlike some other mice I've tried. And using GG to customize the RGB or make custom configurations for specific games is a breeze. I can't recommend this mouse enough to anyone who loves gaming, whether it's FPS, RPG, or anything else. It's great for any game!

Ridiculously light, ridiculously customizable, and ridiculously good at killing its battery if the RGB is on.\r\n\r\nThe skeleton-style design is also a nice touch. Since it's more open, it doesn't collect the usual layer of grime and finger grease the way normal mice do, which means less cleaning and less disgusting buildup over time.\r\n\r\nOne annoying issue, though: I turned the RGB off to save battery, and then SteelSeries GG just refused to turn the mouse lighting back on. I literally couldn't get it working again through the software when I wanted to take a photo for this review. That's definitely a point off.

I am absolutely blown away by the SteelSeries Aerox 5! Seriously, the moment I picked it up, I was amazed by how incredibly light it is. It glides across my mousepad effortlessly, making fast-paced gaming a dream.\r\nBut the lightness is just the start. The programmability of the buttons is fantastic! I got this mouse two months ago, and I am happy to say it feels solid, precise and sharp so far. It doesn't have grips but the material makes it not slip in hand, and the buttons are responsive, well placed, and feel good to click. Now, I think I liked the feel and design of the Rival 600s series more, as the open mesh of the Aerox lets dust collect inside of the mouse (and it's hard to remove), and the lack of weight adaptability makes it less versatile than its ancestors. But overall I am really happy with the product and plan on keeping it for a long time.

Very fast, light and with enough accessible clicks for my need + many custom parameters. The feeling of click is really enjoyable and the sound not at problem at all.\r\nI used some ergonomic vertical mouse in the past too, but with Aerox 3/5 I don't have any wrist problem because it's a really really lighweight mouse.\r\n\r\nThe only downside I think about is the fact the Aerox 5 is little bigger than man previous Aerox 3. With my grip habit + size of my hand, it's make the thumb click a little hard to reach but it's a minor annoyance.

The product is fantastic! Although it is such a small thing, the feather-like weight is amazing. The ergonomics work for my hand and the lights just add that extra little touch that raises the ambient gaming experience. It performs really good and has not let me down at any point.\r\nThe only "downside" are the openings that allow you to see through the device. It is difficult to see how I would be able to clean the interior should something fall in, or generally if dust accumulates. It would have been nice with a *click-on* cover that could easily be removed for cleaning.

After I upgraded from my old wired mouse to an Aerox 5, first and foremost I feel the happiest and the freedom,\r\nAfter years of struggling with a wire that felt like a steel chain/shackles, thanks to the amazing dongle technology of Aerox 5 the word delay is further than the meaning of it, and not only it is very comfy to the hand, it is super light, slick design that also offers variety of customization and gaming advantage.\r\nPS. So far so good, i heard about people having connection issues, only problem ive had referring to connection is me turning the mouse on and it not connecting, but all you have to do is turn it off and on again , then connects perfectly. I got this mouse on a pretty good deal, wouldn't recommend buying at full price (because is there anything that should actually be bought at full price) because the fact that they're marketing as a light mouse (taking away a bunch of material , lowering cost for them) and selling it at a pretty insane price is a dumb thing to do.

The Aerox 5 Wireless gives me the perfect handling for my favorite game: Escape from Tarkov. This game got a lot of functions and you NEED a nice mouse with extra buttons to play the game like its supposed to. SteelSeries is also the ONLY producer who writes on the cover of their packed equipment which you can purchase from them, true details about the sensor and switch technology, not like other producers. THAT was the reason that made me purchase the Aerox 5. \r\nSteelSeries knows what gamer want!

I've been using it daily for three weeks now, and I'm blown away: its featherweight design (74g) and 9 programmable buttons immediately won me over for FPS and MOBA games. The TrueMove Air sensor is incredibly precise, even during fast movements, and the ventilation holes prevent sweaty hands after hours of gaming. I also love the RGB customization via SteelSeries GG, which makes the mouse as unique as my setup. An investment worth every penny for top-notch comfort and performance!

I had previously been using a Logitech G502 hero and had numerous complaints with it like gliding having a lot of friction(even on a QcK Performance pad), too large, and a hit or miss scroller. The Aerox 5 solved all of this with a buttery smooth glide, easy buttons(though the „paddle“ button is slightly stiffer when pressing it down compared to up), and great battery on 2.4g if optimized correctly. I would highly recommend this mouse to anyone, even though it is a steep price.

I've been using the SteelSeries Aerox 5 Wireless for a while now, and I'm extremely satisfied with it. The mouse is lightweight, incredibly comfortable to use, and the wireless connection is rock solid with no noticeable input lag. The battery life is excellent, and I really like the customizable buttons and smooth glide. It feels premium, responsive, and perfect for both gaming and everyday use. Definitely one of the best mice I've owned so far — highly recommended!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Aerox 5 wireless mouse is awesome! It's so lightweight and has great design, it's perfect for gaming. I like that it has good grip with LED lights effect. The battery lasts long and it's easy to set-up. The construction is pretty nice. It's solid and the scroll function works great. It connects through bluetooth, wire and wireless which is pretty awesome especially if you run out of battery. I highly recommend it!

I had rival 700 and 710\r\nThe had the double click issue after many years of use and a teenagers violent use.\r\nI bought this mouse and it's even better somehow, despite being wireless.\r\nI can effortless use it for own pc (with receiver) and work pc (Bluetooth)\r\nSo win-win.\r\nAll i lack on the new aeros is being able to store profiles on the mouse, as 700 and 710 could.\r\nBut it's just the cherry on the top, and not nessesary. Only a great feature.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Aerox 5 is a sturdy and colorful mouse that's great for gaming or just generally for the aesthetic. The mouse itself is heavier than I initially thought but in a substantial way, not in a detrimental way. It feels very durable and sturdy and has the classic mouse shape so it's easy and intuitive to use. The colorful lights are so fun and the mouse is easy to set up with your computer. Really recommend!
