Wide frequency range but the bass won't knock you down. I paid more for earphones that sound a less pleasing. For the price they are a good deal. The earphones don't hurt my ears after wearing a long time. NOTE: They are STEREO. I have more expensive earphones that say they are STEREO but are two channel MONO. These earphones sound good to my old ears. ( ymmv ) They also have good volume. I Recommend Them.

What a great well-priced pair of headphones. I recently flew from LGA to Arkansas, a three hour flight, and these headphones allowed me to have peace and quite the entire flight. It does come with a AAA battery, but will work even if it dies on you. Everything sounds fantastic through these, music, movies / tv shows, audible, etc. I will buy my wife another pair.

I got these headphones about a year ago. They sound okay (better than lower end headphones). The noise cancelling feature doesn't actually cancel much noise, when you flick it on it also boosts the volume slightly, to give you a better impression of noise cancelling. However it does cut out noise, unfortunately in places where there is lots of noise (like a bus) or outside in the wind, it will try to cut out noises that you wouldn't hear anyway, and cause a bit of noise in your music (luckily turning off noise cancelling is a good option).\r\n\r\nAlso about 8 months in (with light use, not used daily), the ear-pads simply fell apart. The outside layer is a fragile vinyl that fell off. And the inner circle connection was not sturdy, causing the front and back of the pad to disconnect in that center circle. So now the pads' foam has expanded, leaving only a narrow hole in the center for sound. This of course ruins the sound and is uncomfortable to use. Replacement pads are difficult to find online, and I wouldn't want to replace them with the same pads since they were so weak, I'd like a higher quality pad option.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, the headband is not padded, it's hard plastic. If you have a bit of a pointed head like me, this is painful to use. Luckily a universal headband pad can be found cheap online, which mostly solves the issue.\r\n\r\nOverall, I can't give this a 1 star because frankly, the sound quality was fine, (they are not high end headphones, but they aren't budget sounding either, somewhere in the moddle, closer to the bottom). And the audio jack even withstood a 5 foot drop onto pavement that bent the connector , but it still worked perfectly. These headphones would be worth more with higher quality ear-pads.

The canceling is strong, and the phones comfortable. They don't sound as bright as other Sony headphones and thus require serious equlization in iTunes. If you don't have that, things will sound muffled. The effect does not go away when noise cancelation is off.

These sound *great*, especially for the price. However, they work very poorly for phone calls. The microphone seems to pick up every sound in the room, which is jarring for both you and the person you're calling.

These definitely cut out the ambient noise of a room. I only wish they where over ear instead of on ear. I also wish the cord was still bit longer, but for the price the deliver.

The sound quality is very good considering the low cost. They are well-built and do the job required.

Never used noise canceling headphones before. Price was right to try on recent flight. Comfortable over my ears. Could not hear buzzing airplane noises usually hear when wearing earbuds. Also could not hear my husband unless he tapped me on my shoulder. Did occasionally hear a crying baby. Normally am a nervous flyer but was able to fall asleep wearing these while listening to a meditation podcast! Liked how they folded up flat into my purse leaving plenty of room for other items. Very happy with purchase!

When I first put the Sony earphones on, I was worried because I thought I must have mistakenly order the more expensive Sony model. The sound, fit, and sound quality seemed too good for them to be the least expensive one sold by Sony. I was so sure that I went back to check my order and indeed they were the correct less expensive earphones.\nI feel as if Sony places quality above price which is a rare thing to find in today's market. \n\nThank you!

Oh My Goodness, these headphones are great the music sound balance is high quality without to much bass .. They are so cushiony on the ears and fit well on the kids. The sound does not slip through, so only the wearer hears what playing.\nI bought these for two Audiovox {Portable DVD players so the kids could listen to their own movies without hearing the others (Far better than those on-board DVD players).

I got these for my 15 yo son who loves to game. These are not bulky like most headphones, but they do cover the ear completely and the output of sound is great! Sony came through with an affordable style of headphones that are completely durable and comfortable. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase because my son loves them. I'd by again if needed.

the sound is crystal clear and nicely stereo, they're comfortable and this is my second pair. I've permanently connected the first set to my tv and this one will be for my tablet. I'm unable to really successfully use ear buds. they fall out, get painful, and rarely give excellent sound. these are it for me!

I have used and enjoyed these excellent low end NC headsets daily for many years. This pair was a replacement for one I've used for years, but handling eventually resulted in the mini plug wires finally failing. At the price, it's just not worth repairing them, so... buy a new set.

I was looking for a pair of wired headphones for my nighttime walks because my RCA Bluetooth headphones are a little annoying (have to sync it with my iPod and the buttons rattle as a walk). Music sounds great with these headphones! Good price, too!!

The sound is great, has great base. The noise cancelling feature works like a charm. Glad I purchased this. Its adjustable and comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

Bought these for my brother (has special needs) to use anytime, but especially while listening to music when we travel by plane. They were perfect!!!

The box comes with an adapter for older planes. The noise cancellation can cover the noise if you are seating near the engines. Good base response.

Really happy with my purchase. Easy to use headphones, they really block the outside sound out. Again cheaper on this site than anywhere else.

The noise canceling function seems very good. Sound preproduction is very good. A little awkward to "open" but otherwise very satisfactory.

These are ok. Like they kind of cancel out noise, but not totally. I can be in my room listening to my audio books, and still hear my husbands tv which is only on volume 21. So that’s kind of a bummer, but they do cancel out SOME noise. For 40 something dollars I can’t complain too much, considering a lot of noise cancelling headphones are 100-300 price range.
