Overall, this is a great calculator. It has a ton of functions, and it's easy to use and fairly intuitive. If you're not sure how to do anything it's pretty easy to follow the instructions, or look online for instructions of how to do any of the functions. The buttons are clearly labeled. The battery charge seems to last as long as you need it, at least several hours. It also charges relatively quickly. The screen is fairly large and the graphics easy to see, but probably not big enough to be great for the visually impaired. The one thing that really stinks about this calculator is that it has an ancient type of charger, the thick mini USB end. this is pretty much the only type of electronics that still uses this kind of charger. the problem with that is that you can't plug it in with any other charger, and if you misplace your specific charger that came with this calculator you are out of luck. It's even hard to find this kind of charger online. By now, they really should be upgrading to USBC or a micro USB end.

honestly i bought this since the matrix operation is apparently easier on this but istg i absolutely am in love with this calculator! it has a wide range of operations including the fact that you can program it to your needs (i work a lot with binary and hexadecimal numbers so i input the program on it) and you can google your necessary codes. If you're feeling lazy or don't want to type the entire code in the calculator then there is a software available online for TI calculators where you connect your calculator and type your code on a computer along with seeing whatever graphs you want on a bigger screen (you can download from this link - https://education.ti.com/en/products/computer-software/ti-connect-ce-sw?category=overview )

For the few extra dollars, I would recommend this calculator. As an upper level high school math teacher the color graphics is a big plus when exploring graphing. I like the charging of calculator over batteries. This calculator is slimmer and lighter than others. I would buy this calculator if needed for Algebra 2 and pursuing advance math courses. ( If you are taking Alg 1 and pursuing advance math classes would buy.). Otherwise, if this doesn't matter to you the TI 84 or TI 83 would be fine.

Overall I've got to say this is a great calculator, I didnt think I'd learn to use and enjoy the color feature of it, but in the end it really is helpful when using graphs, tables, and lists on the calculator; overall the functionality stays relatively the same as it's predecessor's, but it does have some really nice quality of life features added onto them. Overall I would recommend for anyone looking for a good calculator for school and such, it's really been quite helpful to me as a student.

This calculator has seen much use in the last couple months as it has been approved for use in final exams by BYU. There are additional apps available online that can be downloaded onto the calculator. There were some hiccups with connecting to MacBook or Windows laptops without standard usb port but was able to setup the software on Chromebook and easily download additional apps. \nBattery lasts long and only needs recharge once a couple days. Good tool for high-schoolers and possibly could be used well into college years.

I bought the TI-84 calculator for my child's math and science classes. It works great and has all the functions needed for school. I got it on sale, so the price was reasonable — but it's quite expensive at regular price. Overall, a reliable and useful calculator!

I purchased this calculator for my sister who is studying for her finance degree and being an owner of many Texas Instruments calculators, I highly recommend it to both business and science students. It is user friendly and someone who is not a "math person" can learn to use it. There are other calculators out there that are less expensive but you get what you pay for and Texas Instruments will not let you down. Mine have lasted for many years through many uses and with new ones coming out in fun colors I find myself giving them away so I can purchase a new one in a fun color! I am a science and math teacher in a community college plus I have a tutoring business. these are the only calculators I use for the high school and college students. I have purchased Texas instruments calculator for younger students and for myself as a basic calculator. You will be pleased with the calculator plus Walmart makes it easy to afford it with their great prices.

**** dollars is pretty expensive in general for most things, but I compared this price to some other websites and found that it was an agreeable price for this product as it did come brand new and with a 3 year warranty (most of my college career). Once again, I am very impressed with the condition the calculator was in when I picked it up!

I've had the same graphing calculator for twenty years. I wanted an upgrade because the screen is getting harder to read as I get older. I couldn't be more thrilled. It's an excellent tool and I love the lighted display. It's easy to see and operate.

Please provide an opt out for reviews. In this case the item was purchased per school supply list. I never opened the package but gave it to student's father. It is a standard calculator that I expect is for teachers' benefit - focusing students on tasks. School issued computers can carry out the same functions but run the risk of student's' attention going elsewhere.

My high school daughter's Pre-Calc teacher recommended this calculator for her students. It arrived about 75% charged, and my daughter has been using this week in class and has not had to charge it yet. It comes with a rigid plastic cover that slides off the front and can slide on the back for the time that she is using the calculator--I love that! My daughter was delighted to see that it has the periodic table on it--could be handy for Chemistry too.

Actually purchased this for my high school freshman, was recommended to use for algebra. It's the second TI-84 that we've purchased in the last couple years as my high school junior is also using the same for pre calculus. We researched and looked it to upgrading the original calculator and getting a more detailed calculator but the TI-84 plus really has it all including being able to use on the ACT and SAT. For the most part both my kids were able to figure out using it fairly easy although school is helpful. They should be sable to use these into college and with more advanced math classes. Comes with cable for downloading data too. Look around for best price, we purchased from Walmart for under $100 :)

I am a sophomore in high school and I will be taking AP Calculus soon. This class also has a bit of Trigonometry. I have tried various mathematical problems, ranging from the most complex, to the simplest of them all. After doing so, I learned that this calculator is very efficient and fast in solving practically any math problem the average high schooler will see. In addition to its efficiency, it allows for multiple applications which you can easily download from a computer. I have to admit, though, that the buttons and controls may be a bit confusing to someone new to the TI calculator series. However, with a bit of practice and reading, this calculator will be simple. The TI-84 plus is truly a good option for a student in need of a graphing calculator, but isn't wealthy enough to afford those flashy, color calculators.

This gold standard calculator was on sale here and cost barely more than the TI-84, so I had to jump on it. There was a nice magenta color which my daughter would have loved, so I thought I selected it. But when I picked it up, it was black. Disappointed, I realized that all the various colors had the exact same SKU and webpage. In other words, you have no control of the color. I think this is a bad business decision for Walmart. No one wants to be surprised like that anymore, in this day of computerized inventory. Just list the exact color, or else there will inevitably be some disappointed customers who hoped it would be one color or another.
