[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm overall very happy with the dryer. My 2 issues are the top surface has a pretty significant forward slope. I typically set the fabric spray bottle on the dryer when I spray items before putting them in the washer. If I don't remember to put it on the back third of the dryer, it falls to the floor. Nothing broke, just annoying that I have to learn new "muscle memory" for where to put it.\nThe second issue is the "wrinkle prevention" feature. My old dryer kept tumbling after the load was dry. I believe it tumbled for maybe 30 min? That was usually long enough for me to get back to the dryer and take things out. Now it stops tumbling IMMEDIATELY and lets clothes sit still for ?5 min? before it tumbles for maybe a minute? I now have to sit in front of the dryer when drying my "wrinkle stuff" to get it out immediately. I've noticed that since it's still warm, the more knit/cotton type fabrics stick to themselves as I pull them out. I don't remember that problem when the tumbling was continuous. I imagine it's an energy saving feature. I agree with energy savings and probably should have asked more questions when buying the dryer to understand the change in feature.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dryer is an upgrade from the older 2001 model that we finally had to stop repairing - energy efficiency is much better; clothes dry in about half the time as our old dryer, so that will save a lot on electric bill. It isn't too loud, but I'm glad we have a separate room for it. I would recommend a vibration pad for it to sit on, as the hard plastic "feet" that come with it are a little cheap and do make the machine vibrate a little on tile - not nearly as bad as a washer does, but the feet are kinda cheap. \n\nWhile the newer machine is a lot lighter, the older models had a bit mode solid metal to them, this one flexes a bit when you push on it, like when I'm shutting the door, I'm scared that it will dent very easily if I push on the wrong spot, compared to the older, tougher machines that we used to get, where you could practically drop them down a flight of stairs. These newer models, if you pick them up at the wrong end with a handcart you might have a nice nasty dent in the side or front (kinda cheap there) other than that it is a great upgrade at a great price. I love the 10yr limited warranty.

The size of the drum allows me to dry queen-sized blankets.\nI have experienced a minor issue with drying rugs/bathmats. They don't actually tumble but form around the inside of the drum. I use 10 wool dryer balls to help keep things moving around in the drum, but they didn't help when drying the bathmats.\nMy clothes still come out more wrinkled that I expected they would. If I remove them immediately after the cycle, they are ok, not great, but ok. The extended "Wrinkle Prevent" feature isn't that reliable for keeping wrinkles to a minimum.

I am an old dinosaur and long for the simplicity of days gone by with less buttons and less things to go wrong. This dryer is fine... it does what it's supposed to do... once I figure out how to turn the darn thing on!\nAlso, I really find it annoying that the tops of both the washer and dryer are sloped toward the front. They do not have flat tops, and things keep slipping off to the floor! Whoever designs these new machines has NO idea about functionality in appliances or what actually transpires in a laundry room!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to replace my 46 year old dryer. I researched and read reviews. This Maytag dryer had very good results. I wanted a basic, no frills dryer. I love the huge drum for plenty of room. The dryer has worked extremely well. It is easy to use. I gave it a 4/5 because the door has to be slammed to close it. I feel that will cause problems at some point. Also I do not like the lint removal on the top of the dryer. It leaves dusty lint on the dryer every time I empty it. I put a damp paper towel on the top for the lint to fall on. I shouldn't have to do that to empty the lint filter.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dryer capabilities are great, however door closing is not easy. I find myself having to slam it to get it to close. Also the new push button features are not instantaneous the way the old push dials were. The sloped design of the top doesn't allow for laundry products to be stored. The spin cycle on the washer, right next to the dryer, caused my detergent bottle to fall off, open and spill! No more storing products atop the dryer. My old Maytag dryer was over 20 years old before it expired. It did not sound "tinny" as this one does. However, it is drying the laundry.

I like the fact that this dryer has manual input kbobs instead of computerized touch pads. Less to break down over time! It has all the drying options you would need to dry any size or type of load. It lacks a countdown or timer that lets you know how long until it's done drying which is a bummer but the size of it kind of makes up for that. This is a very large dryer and can handle a super large amount of laundry. The one thing I really don't like is the door. The door is VERY thin. It shuts and it seals but it's much thinner than I am used to and I don't care for that part.

As a baby boomer, I am used to being able to freely select conditions of operation, fill level, cycle times, etc. However, new models often preselect these in order to save water or energy. One such condition that I would prefer to choose is the ability to add water to the drum following the addition of the soap. However the washer won't fill without locking the lid, thus requiring additional steps to dilute the soap before adding laundry.

Thus, it has trouble closing tightly. the switch inside the door will not stay in the proper position and must be pushed by hand , then I must slam the dryer door. \n2. As it works, it slides out of place on the new hardwood floor. I'll have to get someone to help me lift it enough to put rubber under at least the front "feet".\n3. It dries well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has a great capacity for our light comforters and clothes, but it takes longer to dry than expected. I\u2019ve tried different settings with similar results. It runs very quiet, which is nice. I think this evens out the tumble consistency well. The drum doesn\u2019t move around like our old one, so that\u2019s a blessing, and it seems to heat evenly. As long as I get to the laundry right away it doesn\u2019t wrinkle, so I\u2019m not sure about the wrinkle prevention. Overall, it\u2019s not bad for what we paid.

I consider this new model to be the "newer" version as it's just like the 1994 model with a couple exceptions. Purchased online without seeing in the store, I'm not crazy about the shape of the top. It's NOT FLAT, already had items roll off. \nThe door latch is the exact same design but his new one can be difficult to open/close. You'd think after 30 years Maytag would design a smoother latch. The amount of pet hair got all over the inside of the dryer and not much into the filter. I had to vacuum out the inside of the dryer to clean it. I had to run it multiple times to get these things to dry. I tried various settings and they were still wet after about 6 hours.\nFor everyday use it's great, but not for heavy stuff. One of the features I have always counted on with my dryer is the end of cycle notification. On this dryer it is a faint buzzer that I can't hear. The dryer is on my first floor and I am no more than 25 feet away from it and still don't hear anything. My old dryer buzzer I could hear upstairs from the basement and of course upstairs when we moved them up. I wish I could give it a 4 1/2 star because I like it other than the buzzer.

The spacious drum is pretty great fit not getting my king size sheets tangled up on themselves. The more dry setting is my most used and it works adequately so that even my bras in delicates holders are dry. It has wrinkle prevent cycles that are pretty useless to me because I either take it out immediately or it's waiting for hours anyway. I do use the button to turn off the buzzer. My only dislike is the lint collector. It pulls out from the top, but it leaves dusty lint all over the top of the machine. Also the slightly rounded top makes it impossible to keep anything on top of the dryer. My dryer sheets can sometimes be heard jumping off onto the floor, especially if I'm drying bulky items.

I'm not too thrilled with the door it's kinda hard to shut, you have to close it harder than I think you should. Also if I use my knee to push it close in the center of the door it gives, I worry I'll get a dent in the door cause it will pop real loud. So the only way around this is to make sure my hands are empty. I am older and I have to use both hands to close it.

This new one works fine, but the old dryer had a better lint filter at the door opening, with a finer fabric mesh instead of the screen wire filter on the top of the new one. The fabric filter lasted 21 years before replacing. The screen wire is vulnerable to denting, and allows more lint to get into the dryer vent tube. Maytag/Whirlpool, you might want to revisit the filter design.

The dryer is efficient pretty quiet and drys clothes well. My biggest complaint is that the top is sloped to the front. Anything that is placed on the top of the machine is guaranteed to fall in the floor as the dryer operates. You might think the slight slope is great for large liquid detergent dispensers, but they will slide off and more than likely burst on impact with the floor. They have been making dryers for decades. How this common sense design need was ignored is Crazy!

I bought this same unit more than a few years ago. When it worked ? Loved it , \nI even purchased an extended warranty! Even though I thought I would not need it. \nAfter the warranty passed. I noticed over time it took x2 of running a 45 minute cycle for the unit to dry! \nThe tech who checked it out said nothing was wrong with it! Thus now the warranty is gone. This Dryer now does not heat anymore. \n\nI called Maytag Service. They gave me two insane options. A Monthly service fee that equals $428 for the year ?! which you can't break or $307 to fix it. \n\nI am an Electronic Tech. The drum spins , has 220 phase power , terminal blocks look good. \nAll the Thermostats check good in the ohm range. I even checked the Timer Switch to see if the contacts were worn or burnt? Nope. They look good too! lol. \n\nIts very puzzeling to be honest. \n\nMy key advice it seriously purchase some sort of 5 year warranty. Because the 10 year limited does not COVER THE HEATING ELEMENT OF THE UNIT! \n\nOther option, Buy GE, Samsung and the only thing you have to worry about is ...Nothing. When it comes to Dryers. \n\nI am very upset and disappointed , I have owned GE and Whirlpool units for years and never had an issue other than some terminals buring out during electrical storms or power outages . I bought Maytag really for that 10 Year parts warranty to only find out they cover two items that really never break!
