This dishwasher cleans very well. It cleans as well as dishwashers costing nearly twice as much. Consumer testing sites have rated it lower in the noise category than more expensive models; however, I find it as quiet as I would expect a dishwasher to be. You know it's running, but that's about it. Some have complained about its plastic drying ability. I find it dries my plastic items as well as, if not better than, any dishwasher I've ever owned, including those energy-gobbling, high temp models from the 1970s and 80s. On sale, you can find this model for less than $600, making it a great deal. I would give it five stars if it could clean the stubborn, baked-on food from my glass bakeware, a feat no dishwasher can perform.

I purchased this because it was the only one I could find in white that wasn't eternally backordered (not just at Best Buy but everywhere). I find it extremely unattractive, particularly the handle design. That said, it does work properly and with rinse aid added it dries fairly well other than water pooled on tops of cups, which is to be expected. The top rack is oddly designed so that larger coffee cups don't fit between the tines, so it doesn't hold as much and I have to run it more often. I do like the cutlery basket design, and that the bottom rack can accommodate taller items than my old one. I use the quick wash cycle with heated dry and extended dry selected and that seems to work best for me.

However, I used the quick wash, even after I had rinsed and cleaned off a majority of the debris on the dishes, it did not get the dishes clean. I had to rerun on a regular wash in order for it to clean properly. My old dishwasher did it quick wash quite effectively. I am also concerned about the quality of materials used to create new modern dishwashers. They are quite unsubstantial and very flimsy and I'll be interested to see how long this lasts.

Whirlpool should look into changing that design and have a bonded hard insulation for the tank and on the bottom plate. I have never had a 3rd rack or an adjustable rack and I find those are so useful. The only thing that I would say is that the wash cycle is really long. This unit replaced another Whirlpool unit and the cycle is almost twice as long but that is not a deal breaker. I would buy this unit again.

The rack rollers will probably be the first to go. I will say that it does get the dishes clean, but I don't know if I'd be putting my name on a product like that. Just being honest here. If I ever buy another appliance, it will be after I check it out in the store.

Just installed this Whirlpool and it looks fantastic in my kitchen. The fingerprint-resistant stainless steel is definitely 'shining' and stays clean even with daily use. It's quiet enough at 55 dBA and the top controls give it a very sleek, modern profile. It’s performing well right out of the box, but as with any new appliance, only time will tell if it stays reliable in the long run. For now, I’m very happy with the purchase!

I love the 3rd rack feature and that it's relatively quiet when running a wash cycle but I did notice that the door squeaks quite loudly when opening or closing and I miss the ability to delay the start of a wash cycle to work hours or overnight etc but otherwise it's a great appliance.

I like the different types of cycles, using the quick cycle still gets everything clean—this is my go to cycle. I only use the other cycles if I know dishes have sat for quite a while and may have more stuck on food. It is much quieter than the machine we replaced.

Dishes have always come out clean and it runs very quiet. Love the stainless steel interior. Always looks.clean inside after a wash. The dishwasher is very quiet and easy to use. The dish rack doesn't move up or down but is stationed with enough room for a large pot to be placed on. Installation was very easy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Whirlpool Dishwasher gets dishes clean and is easy to use. It is definitely an economical level dishwasher without a lot of bells or whistles. I was satisfied with how clean my dishes came out, which is the main purpose of this machine. I liked the clean design of the front door and blends in nicely even with the front controls. I wish there was a towel rack to maximize kitchen space. Most of the dishwasher components are plastic but that doesn’t bother me much. There are two racks, which provides plenty of room to put dishes and utensils in. A third rack would be nice but the two racks are completely suitable for my uses. I have soft water and the dishes came out dry and clean on the normal cycle with just detergent. \r\n\r\nThe controls are very simple and straightforward. The downside is that there isn’t a way to know much time is left or what part of the cycle the dishwasher is on. The only way to know is to look at the clock when you start and note how long it usually takes. The light does change to clean when finished, which is useful. It took about 2.5 to 3 hours to do a Normal Cycle with the Heated Dry Option. I wish there was a half load cycle because I use the machine to be more efficient in water usage as well as time spent washing dishes. I don’t always have a full load to maximize resources and find the urge to just hand wash certain pieces rather than wait for a full load to start the machine which defeats the purpose of having a dishwasher. I think the greatest consideration in deciding if you should purchase this dishwasher is the noise level. While it is not as loud as older dishwashers, it is still really noisy. It can be heard in the next room over, which is not ideal for smaller spaces. I don’t mind the sound of the water spray but the high pitch squeak of the spinning arms and components is annoying. Overall, this dishwasher is good at cleaning dishes even if it is a basic machine but must be run when and where noise for 2 hours is not an issue.
