[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm overall very happy with the dryer. My 2 issues are the top surface has a pretty significant forward slope. I typically set the fabric spray bottle on the dryer when I spray items before putting them in the washer. If I don't remember to put it on the back third of the dryer, it falls to the floor. Nothing broke, just annoying that I have to learn new "muscle memory" for where to put it.\nThe second issue is the "wrinkle prevention" feature. My old dryer kept tumbling after the load was dry. I believe it tumbled for maybe 30 min? That was usually long enough for me to get back to the dryer and take things out. Now it stops tumbling IMMEDIATELY and lets clothes sit still for ?5 min? before it tumbles for maybe a minute? I now have to sit in front of the dryer when drying my "wrinkle stuff" to get it out immediately. I've noticed that since it's still warm, the more knit/cotton type fabrics stick to themselves as I pull them out. I don't remember that problem when the tumbling was continuous. I imagine it's an energy saving feature. I agree with energy savings and probably should have asked more questions when buying the dryer to understand the change in feature.

I no longer have to go to laundromat because my older dryer gave out.I was looking for a dryer that wasn't complicated (millions of features just waiting to break). I wanted a machine that did the job with good basic features, was reliable, and was economical. My Maytag hits all these points perfectly! I highly recommend to anyone easy to operate is durability and energy efficient!!\n\nThis is a very spacious dryer that is easy to use. Three knobs is all it takes to get started. First you select the temperature (high, med or low), then you have the choice of auto dry or timed dry. Lastly, you can turn the dial to either signal you or not, when the load is done drying. The door opening is large and allows for easy access to load and remove clothes. My large load of clothes dries easily in one cycle. There is a wrinkle prevention feature too, that helps reduce wrinkles. The lint trap is located on the top for easy access.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Samsung dryer that was 3 years old, needed the motor to be repaired. Could not find a local repair man so we decided to just replace it with this Maytag dryer, that we know can be locally repaired. So far the dryer works great. I like that it has a wrinkle prevention mode, which after the main cycle is complete it will turn the dryer on for a few minutes every so often until you take your clothes out. My only two cons about this dryer is that it does not have a count down to let you know how long the load is going to take, and that you can't switch which side the door is on to change which direction it opens.

I am an old dinosaur and long for the simplicity of days gone by with less buttons and less things to go wrong. This dryer is fine... it does what it's supposed to do... once I figure out how to turn the darn thing on!\nAlso, I really find it annoying that the tops of both the washer and dryer are sloped toward the front. They do not have flat tops, and things keep slipping off to the floor! Whoever designs these new machines has NO idea about functionality in appliances or what actually transpires in a laundry room!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washer to replace a 30 yrs old Maytag which was still working but I had to replace the dryer, so I bought the set. It has a lot more features than my old washer which gives more overall control of the wash. However, it is lacking the one function that I liked on my old one. I cannot soak my whites for a couple of hours in the hot water. I used to just open the lid right after the fill cycle and let them soak. Can not do that with the new model. Lid locks and to open it you have to cancel the cycle which cause the unit to drain..... other than that, I am happy with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dryer capabilities are great, however door closing is not easy. I find myself having to slam it to get it to close. Also the new push button features are not instantaneous the way the old push dials were. The sloped design of the top doesn't allow for laundry products to be stored. The spin cycle on the washer, right next to the dryer, caused my detergent bottle to fall off, open and spill! No more storing products atop the dryer. My old Maytag dryer was over 20 years old before it expired. It did not sound "tinny" as this one does. However, it is drying the laundry.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The operation of both the washer and the dryer are great and the final result is also great ...I have only two concerns...the dryer top is not level....it has a slop...everything I place on the top, if the dryers is working, I find on the floor and if I'm not in the laundry room I come running to see what happened now?! Tops seem to be the issue...the washer lid is so flexible, that if I lean on it or put a heavy load of clothes in a basket on top of it, it makes a loud noise that sounds and feels like it is breaking.

Thus, it has trouble closing tightly. the switch inside the door will not stay in the proper position and must be pushed by hand , then I must slam the dryer door. \n2. As it works, it slides out of place on the new hardwood floor. I'll have to get someone to help me lift it enough to put rubber under at least the front "feet".\n3. It dries well. I've not used all the features. I did watch the video and will try some other features next time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried drying some heavy items (latch hook rug, big dog bed, cat blankets) and it didn't work as well as regular clothes. The amount of pet hair got all over the inside of the dryer and not much into the filter. I had to vacuum out the inside of the dryer to clean it. I had to run it multiple times to get these things to dry. I tried various settings and they were still wet after about 6 hours.\nFor everyday use it's great, but not for heavy stuff. I hesitate to try my quilts in it after this difficulty.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Why offer an end of cycle notice alerted if it can't be heard. One of the features I have always counted on with my dryer is the end of cycle notification. On this dryer it is a faint buzzer that I can't hear. The dryer is on my first floor and I am no more than 25 feet away from it and still don't hear anything. My old dryer buzzer I could hear upstairs from the basement and of course upstairs when we moved them up. I wish I could give it a 4 1/2 star because I like it other than the buzzer.

I'm not too thrilled with the door it's kinda hard to shut, you have to close it harder than I think you should. Also if I use my knee to push it close in the center of the door it gives, I worry I'll get a dent in the door cause it will pop real loud. So the only way around this is to make sure my hands are empty. I am older and I have to use both hands to close it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dryer replaced a Maytag 23 year old dryer. This new one works fine, but the old dryer had a better lint filter at the door opening, with a finer fabric mesh instead of the screen wire filter on the top of the new one. The fabric filter lasted 21 years before replacing. The screen wire is vulnerable to denting, and allows more lint to get into the dryer vent tube. Maytag/Whirlpool, you might want to revisit the filter design.

I do not like to have to hold the start button 3 seconds though. I do not like the sloped top. Cannot set anything on the dryer top. Also the door latch is too hard to close. I have to push too hard, and the dryer slides backwards.

Not sure if it is lined up correctly, but the store told me that you needed to slam the door so that the wet clothes wouldn't open the door if it was not tight. Never heard of this in all my years of having a dryer. Never had to slam the door with all my might to get a dryer door to close.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago and am unhappy that the top is not flat. I cannot fold clothes or sit things on top, some slide off. The auto dry cycle does not completely dry clothes. The timed cycles do not let you see how much time is left. I had a 7 year old Whirlpool that had a flat top and the timer started at 70 min and went down to zero. You could check on time left. Now I have to use the timed cycle and set a timer to know when to check on the dryer. In basement, can not hear the buzzer. I bought this dryer because of the large lint trap on top. Had lint trap in door one time and did not like. You don't think about how a new product will work. Maybe I will figure out what works best in time.

It doesn't work automatically when you press it. It starts a moment after you press and release the pad. Not crazy about the link screen on the top of the dryer.
