This item is not as described. The color is MUCH darker than the picture. It looks like a dark brown mahogany. I have an antique mahogany piano, and it is darker and browner than that. My bedroom is not well-lit, and in there it appears almost walnut. It also does not appear "distressed" to me, but I consider that to be a good thing. The reason that I returned it, though, is because the drawers are too small. Before purchasing, I asked about the dimensions of the inside of the drawers. At that time they were not listed. Eventually, they got the dimensions and listed them on this website. Listed as 7" high and 25" wide, I ordered the item. Not even close! The inside of the drawers is a mere 5 3/4" high and they are not quite 24" wide. I previously had ordered the Alvarez chest, and I returned it because the drawers were too small, though they were the same as this one. If you don't mind small drawers, the Alvarez chest is a more beautiful chest, and the picture is more true to life.

This is nicely made with a solid feel and a really nice looking finish, at least the dark brown. It feels more expensive than it actually was to me, although there are some ways that these are more affordably made- the inner lining of the drawers, for example, has a paper-like veneer that peeled off when we tried to remove the sticker. Also, the drawers are fine but not super smooth, and they are a bit smaller - the size of the frame is more like a 4 drawer dresser that I had previously, so the drawers are a bit on the shallow side. They fit about 8 pairs of jeans I'd say. The advantage is that its easier to see what is actually in your drawers that way, and we don't at all regret this purchase. The delivery took a while, but they were delivered well packaged with no damage.

This 5 drawer dresser came to me in terrible condition. The top of the dresser is damaged on two corners. The whole top is loose and is lifting up. The top drawer will not open. There is a whole in the back of the cabinet. I can’t believe this is a new piece of furniture. The shipping box had whole and what looked like water damage. The bottom of the box was all taped together. We had to cut the box down the sides into four pieces just to get the dresser out of the packing materials.

Although nice looking and matching the dresser and mirror we ordered, we believe the description in the online listing is misleading. We ordered it to replace a drawer chest that was 28" wide, thinking that the 33" Hadfield should help give the needed room. Its 18" depth was definitely better than the 15.5" depth chest it would replace, as was the 48" height (compared to 43" for the old chest). HOWEVER, the drawer interior size is much smaller: 22.75" x 12.75" x 4", compared to the older 23.25" x 12.75" x 4.75". So, 37% more floor space for 18% LESS volume. (The "main drawer interior" dimensions of 7" x 14" x 13" shown in the website listing was an obvious error copied from something else.)
We feel cheated, and would not have bought this had we known of the small drawer size and so much wasted space. That said, the shipping, packaging, finishing, and looks remain good, which is why I didn't rate this with a single star.More

This 5 drawer chest is beautifully made and fits nicely in our guest bedroom. The color, Driftwood, is perfect and both the chest of drawers and the nightstand match my beige fabric headboard. The Size is on the smaller side, but it actually fits very well in the room where I have it. A great purchase!
