VTOL VR is a flight simulator developed by the independent studio Boundless Dynamics. The production appeared on the PC platform, and requires virtual reality goggles and dedicated motion controllers to work. VTOL VR takes place in the near future. The player sits in the cabin of the title VTOL (short for the English phrase Vertical Take Off and Landing, meaning an aircraft capable of vertical take-off and landing), i.e. the AV-42C. At the controls of this vehicle, it performs various missions, mainly consisting in transporting ground units (which requires landing on the surface first), escorting and protecting other planes (even when refueling) and fighting enemies. Combat tasks include both sky duels and bombing ground targets. We observe the events in which we take part in VTOL VR from the first person perspective (FPP), and by moving our head, we can freely look around the cabin. With the help of motion controllers, we move the hands of the virtual pilot - this is how we operate the throttle, move the levers, press the switches visible on the cockpit, and in near-gate situations we catapult before we are shot down. The three-dimensional graphic design of VTOL VR presents an average level of workmanship. Nevertheless, while the surroundings and models of other planes do not make much impression, the interior of our VTOL may be liked with attention to detail.
