The Glow 7" Honeycomb Grid Set for Flashpoint Monolights is a powerful tool in the arsenal of photographers using strobes with reflectors for lighting. The set of four different aperture, from 10½ to 40½, transforms an ordinary reflector into a master dramatic light modifier. Instead of flooding the subject with a wash of light, it directs the illumination with precise aim and light spread. By covering the standard reflector with a grid, you gain more control of a light source's beam. This strong directionality can be used to add high key depth for fashion images, and emphasis the model facial structure as well as the eyes, lips, nose and chin and feathers the hard light to form an attractive shadow. This set leaves the creativity up to you and the degree of drama accent you wish to achieve. The 40½ louver takes the crisp character of the normal beam spread and limits the spill gently and little loss of light; The honeycomb 30½ imitates a spotlight glow with defined borders; The narrow 20½ spotlight glows with even more defined borders of shadow falloff; And the 10½ duplicates a snoot projection without the circular edge of light and darkness and has the greatest decrease of exposure. All variations virtually eliminating spill from the rest of the body and the background. The Glow Honeycomb Grid disk simply slips into the inner perimeter of the reflector rim for a secure perfect fit, kept firmly in position with a tension spring band. All of the materials used in the grids are heat resistant for safe use while subjected to the constant use of a high output modeling lamp. But, baby, does the disk get hot - be careful when handling after your photo session!
