Native to shady and humid Asian tropical forests, Chinese evergreens such as Aglaonema 'Red China' are slow-growing plants suitable for medium to bright, indirect light. They will tolerate low light but will show off the best, brightest color in bright, indirect light. They enjoy consistently lightly moist soil, but like many, many houseplants, they're not fans of waterlogged soil. Water again when the top couple of inches of soil are dry.
