USDA Hardiness Zones 3 - 9 Height 3 - 4 Feet Tall Spread 3 - 5 Feet Wide The Mr. Poppins® Winterberry Holly is the best pollinator for Berry Poppins® Winterberry and all other Proven Winners ColorChoice winterberry hollies. This compact shrub does not produce berries, but is necessary for the female varieties to produce as the pollinator for those shrubs. The good news is that this bush is native to North America and requires little care once established. It is also a compact and dwarf shrub, so it does not take up too much space in the garden. Mr. Poppins Winterberry Holly Holly Care You may plant this bush in an area not viewed as often as more showy shrubs, but it does need to be within 50 feet of the female plants to pollinate. This shrub is widely adaptable to a lot of different soil types and moisture levels. Pruning Mr. Poppins Winterberry Holly should not be done unless absolutely necessary. It could negatively impact how many flowers are produced the next year if pruned too aggressively. Trimming can be done at anytime of the year for sick and dead branches. Mr. Poppins Winterberry Holly Spacing Ensure that you plant at least one of these within 50 feet of the female counterpart. One of these shrubs can pollinate up to 5 female shrubs. No need to plant more than that, since these bushes do not produce berries in the winter. If you have more than 5 winterberry shrubs to pollinate, be sure to spread out the male plants more than 25 feet apart, center on center. Mr. Poppins® Winterberry Holly Plant Facts USDA Hardiness Zones: 3-9 Foliage Color(s): Green Exposure: Partial Sun to Full Sun Height: 3-4 Feet Spread: 3-5 Feet Spacing: 3-4 Feet Habit: Upright Watering: Wet Shrub Type: Deciduous Scientific Name: Ilex verticillata 'FARROWMRP' USPP 25,834 Common Name: Mr. Poppins® Winterberry Holly Brand: Proven Winners ColorChoice® | Bushes > Holly Bushes > Winterberry Holly Shrubs Proven Winners 1006732-pc
