The Soft Touch Holly Shrub is a low-growing, evergreen Japanese Holly shrub. This Holly is a dense, lustrous shrub loved for its small shape and low-maintenance care regimen. The dark green leaves have a prominent silver ridge in the middle adding dimension to the leaves. The leaves are softer than other Japanese hollies giving it its name. Small black berries are noticeable in the winter, adding interest for the gardener and songbirds to enjoy. Soft Touch Japanese Holly is drought tolerant and much hardier than the Helleri Holly, enabling them to be grown further north. Little or no pruning is required to maintain the rounded shape. These shrubs are excellent for foundation plantings, borders, or where a small hedge is desired. Scientifically referred to as the holly ilex crenata, these soft textured shrubs make a perfect winter interest plant for your yard.
