Description
The Sherwood (plant patented) jujube is considered to be one of the largest and best flavored jujubes, with fruit growing the size of lemons. This Sherwood jujube tree was discovered growing at a plantation at Sibley, Louisiana by Mr. Sherwood Akin, a member of NAFEX, and holder of the plant patent who died at the age of 89 recently. The Sherwood is a thornless jujube tree producing very dense growth with a columnar, upright tree shape. The flowers form in June but the fruit forms much later than the &bul; Li&bul; jujube in August and September.
