Obedient Plant White is a perennial flower reaching 24 - 30 inches in height that grows well in USDA Zones: 3 - 9. Physostegia virginiana seed, also known as False Dragonhead makes a beautiful cut flower due to its dense spikes of white, snapdragon-like flowers which bloom in mid summer. This generally deer resistant flower is great for flower gardens and both hummingbirds and butterflies enjoy the nectar from the Obedient Plant flower. Sow these heirloom Obedient Plant seeds at 3 -4 seeds per plant in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun. Keep seed constantly moist until germination occurs. Space the plants 18 - 24 inches apart. Grow in full sun to partial shade and in moist, well-drained soil. Deadheading encourages continuous blooms and slows down any reseeding. Obedient Plant is usually resistant to deer. Physostegia virginiana is commonly known as Obedient Plant or False Dragonhead.
