The Giselle Jupe Table is a flexible piece with a hint of tradition in the honeycomb marquetry on its tabletop. Jupe tables were designed in the 1800s to enlarge a round table base into a larger round table by simply turning the table and placing in specially designed leaves. Years later this style of dining table extension still impresses and is manufactured by a small number of furniture makers. The Giselle table's leaves fold out from a lower section (in apron) that is hidden from view when using the table in the original form, giving easy maintenance of extension pieces when not in use. Beautiful and functional with an artful veneer tabletop, unique star pattern expands when leaves are unfolded. Adaptable for a small, everyday gathering to serving extra guests by expansion. Solid oak construction with the use of of oak veneers on the expandable tabletop. Base is an appealing combination of curves and facets. Expands with a series of unlatching and turning the tabletop. Seats 6-8 when closed, and up to 10 when open and extended. Leaves are self-contained within table (hidden in apron when not in use).
