This pen works well, but Microsoft designed it to be easily dropped and weighted so that it falls on its tip, which is extremely friable and easy to break. It requires a moderate expense to replace the very inexpensive plastic tip IF it can be removed, and 4 times it has broken off. The older surface pens unscrewed at the tip to allow easy removal of a broken tip, and the pen purposely does not allow any tethering device attachments. Despite this, it works well and is a great replacement pen for those who need to rely on it.
