Excellent for general garden use, accent, mass planting, or hedge. Easy to grow, tough shrub. NOTE: What we ship is two year old ROOT STOCK, ranging 12-18 inches in height and is not a fully grown foliated potted plant. It is a vigorous, upright-to-spreading, deciduous shrub with oval to elliptic leaves which turn deep purple in spring. Plum purple branches add interest to the landscape. The flowers are showy, long lasting, and old fashioned with a heritage. Attracts hummingbirds. Under ideal conditions it can possibly live up to 30 years.
