Thanks to its slow-growing nature, pruning is unnecessary unless trying to achieve a desired shape. It matures to 2-3 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide, making it a truly dwarf selection for garden beds, borders and low growing hedges. Crimson Pygmy Japanese Barberry is hardy from USDA Zones 4-8. Once established in the landscape, it's quite cold-hardy and can handle temperatures between -30° and -20° F for short periods of time. They grow best in Full Sun.
