No-Maintenance, Striped Succulent Need a large statement piece for your landscape that requires little to no maintenance? This Variegated Century Plant is a large, slowly-clumping succulent with rosettes of green leaves thats ideal for a low-maintenance kind of gardener. The Variegated Century Plant is an eclectic, dramatic statement piece. It takes center stage with a mature size of around 6 feet tall and 10 feet wide. Plants that soften the sharp edges or grow low to the ground will accent the Variegated Century Plant beautifully, like golden, wispy grasses or blue or purple flowering plants. The twisted leaves of the Variegated Century Plant are striped with cream and yellow variegation, contrasting vibrantly against the opposing green color of the leaves. These leaves stem from a central stalk, arching out with a curved shape. The spiraling, succulent leaves feature sharp spikes that are often referred to as teeth. To add to the unique nature of this plant, the Variegated Century Plant only flowers one time, just before it dies back. This single flowering session produces one tall, yellow flower stalk that can reach a height of 10 feet. Once it flowers, the plant will die back and produce offshoots to regenerate a new plant. Since it is a succulent plant, minimal to no watering is required, as it stores water in its leaves. Excellent for use in rock gardens and dry climates, the Variegated Century Plant is impressively drought-tolerant. Even during drought, extreme heat, and humidity, the Variegated Century Plant will thrive. Give dramatic flair to your space with this low maintenance succulent. Order your Variegated Century Plant before theyre all gone! Planting & Care Planting: Plant your Variegated Century Plant in a location that has full to partial sun. Although this plant is adaptive to a variety of soil types, it will thrive in sandy or well draining soils. To plant, dig a hole that is 2-3 times the width and an inch less than the depth of the pot it arrived in. Using your fingers, gently loosen the roots. Backfill the dirt, allowing a slight mound around the base of the plant. Water immediately to allow the soil to settle. If you wish to plant your Variegated Century Plant in a container, choose a pot that is twice as large as the container it arrived in and place it in a sunny location. Watering: Water your Variegated Century Plant once every 3 days until it is established. Once established, water 1 time per week. Over watering will cause the roots to rot. Adjust water frequency as needed and dont over water. Fertilizer: Fertilize your Variegated Century Plant with a granulated time-release fertilizer once a year in the spring. | 5 Gallon - Variegated Century Plant - A Commanding Garden Presence See how our 30 Day Happy & Healthy Gaurantee compares to Garden Goods Direct, Lowe's.
